I have been researching for about a week, and am looking at the:
Sony STR-DH540 - $228 Yamaha RX-V375 - $200 Denon Avr X-1000 - $350 (refurb) All I want is a 5.1 receiver with excellent A/V quality and a USB port for my iPhone. I don't need zone 2, I don't need airplay - internet connectivity is preferred, but I don't need wi-fi. 3D is a must, but seems like almost every unit supports it. I had 2 Onkyo receivers die on me in 4 years because of HDMI problems. Never again...have heard Pioneer is having similar issues as of late. I don't mind spending more for better quality, but not if I'm ONLY paying for added features. Are any of the above sufficient, or am I missing something better? I'm running a Sony sub, a pair of DCM floorstanders and Infinity surrounds. My biggest concerns are AV quality and reliability, not features. My original budget was $500 but I'm flexible. Any input is seriously appreciated! |
