Actors who you really think have some talent, but make mostly mediocre or just plain bad films.
My Choices: 7. Ben Affleck -Besides all of the hate Ben Affleck always gets, he has some talent. Not only is he a fantastic director, but he also is a pretty good actor. He's shown it in movies like Good Will Hunting, The Town, and Argo. Though he has been in a LOT of awful movies like Gigli, Daredevil, and Armageddon. 6. Steve Carrell -In my opinion Steve Carrell is kind of an underrated actor. Most people do like him and think he can be fairly funny. Though I think while he has done some funny films (Anchorman 1 & 2, The 40 Year Old Virgin) that he's done a lot of unfunny trash (Evan Almighty, Date Night, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone). I really do think that deep inside of him there really is a good actor and would even be good in dramatic roles. He's shown some talent in films like Little Miss Sunshine and even Dan In Real Life, which wasn't that great but he really had a solid performance in that movie. 5. Cuba Gooding Jr. -It seems like after Cuba won an Oscar that he completely gave up on his career and started to only care about money. Recently he's done nothing but crap (One in the Chamber, Norbit, Daddy Day Camp) with the exception of his small role in American Gangster. It's easy to forget that at one point he was a great actor and put on some really terrific performances like in Boyz in The Hood and Jerry Maguire. 4. Ice Cube -Ice Cube can seriously be a good actor if he tries. He was phenominal in Boyz In The Hood and Three Kings. Now if I see his name attached to a film I won't even see it. Stop appearing in these unwatchable borderline blaxploitation films like Janky Promoters and The Lottery Ticket. Please stop it. I swear if I have to sit through another film like Ride Along I'm going to give up on you. 3. Ray Liotta -This is someone who happens to be in my favorite movie of all time, Goodfellas. What happened from there? How can you go from that to Turbulence? Ray Liotta is a great actor. He was incredible in Goodfellas and it's surprising that he didn't get nominated for an Oscar for that movie. It seems like nowadays he's been in stuff that seems like it should be straight-to-dvd. Liotta, you're great. Please stop making awful films. 2. Adam Sandler -This one will probably make me loose credibility but I don't care. Adam Sandler can really be a good actor. He just needs to work with the right director. He was fantastic in Punch-Drunk Love with his Academy Award worthy preformance. He was also great in Reign Over Me and was incredibly believable as the depressed Charlie Fineman who lost his family to 9/11. Funny people was also awesome. Sandler, you've got to stop putting out stuff like Jack and Jill or I swear you're going to lose a fan. Hopefully his upcoming film "The Cobbler" will redeem him. 1. Nicolas Cage -Out of all the actors on this list, Nic Cage has got to be the best out of all of them. Known for his over-the-top laughable films, he's pretty much turned into a big joke. When people think of Nic Cage they think, "How many films was he in this guy make this year?" I swear, this guy doesn't say no to a role. Though there is absolutely no doubt that Nicolas Cage is a fine actor. If you really dont agree, see Leaving Las Vegas, Face/Off, Adaptation ,Matchstick Men, Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call, and The Weather Man. All great films where Nicolas Cage put on some amazing performances. If only he didn't take every role he's offered we'd get more films like Bringing Out the Dead and less like The Wickerman. Who do you guys think should be in better films? Last edited by jabbercash; 04-12-2014 at 09:18 PM. |
