I have a Pioneer VSX-1120 receiver and I feel its time for me to upgrade to a new receiver. The price range that I'm willing to pay is $850 to $950. I have a 3.1 channel system that consists of Polk Audio TSI300 floor standing speakers, Polk Audio CS10 center speaker, and a Polk Audio DSW Pro 400 subwoofer. I have no plans to upgrade to new speakers and a new sub. I will be using my Sennheiser HD558 headphones occasionally. The sources that I will be using are: Oppo BDP-103, Roku 3, and Sony Playstation 4 (I will be purchasing it this summer).
Here are the features that I want in my new receiver: 1. Excellent sound quality from stereo to multi-channel sources 2. Must have a decent headphone output 3. Headphone surround sound 4. Pure DSD signal via HDMI when playing SACDS (if not, its ok, I can let the Oppo BDP-103 convert DSD to PCM). 5. Easy to use 6. Reliable 7. Good build quality 8. Pure Direct mode 9. Auto Lip sync correction Right now I'm looking at the Yamaha RX-A830 and the Marantz SR5008. So please recommend which one of these two and why? or if you have another receiver in mind please tell me and why? |
