The film is not a horror film. A fantasy/character study film. Well made but not for those who like explosions and gore.

Rent before buying.

I liked this movie. better than village imo. my wife and i saw the village the day I proposed to her, almost brought the whole day down. especially when 30 minutes in i'm blowing the ''twist'' because it was pretty predictable.

but lady in the water was enjoyable. pq is not really impressive though.

I didn't really care for this one. Definitely worse than The Village to me, and like someone else said, The Village was nothing great. I, too, was about 30-45 minutes into it before I told my fiance ********spoiler*******"I bet it's just a bunch of weirdos from our time living in the woods." I really just couldn't get into Lady, and aside from The Village, I enjoy his other films, and I usually love Paul Giamatti. Maybe it was Bryce Dallas Howard. Something about her just gives me the red ass.

i liked it. different than his other films, the village being the only one i really hated, but i liked Lady in the Water enough.

I agree though with the person that said to rent it first, as a LOT of people didnt like this movie.

its a kind of movie where if they had spent an extra few months for this movie it could of been better but still not great but not bad either

I liked lady in the water a lot. You have to keep in mind that the whole movie is based on a bed time story he made up and used to tell his kids. So it's a bit fairy tale-ish as a result. If you go into it expecting that, it's quite good. I am a huge fan of M. Night though, I liked all his movies, including the Village.

I liked this movie a lot as well. It's almost as if you're watching someone else's dream. Some people just don't appreciate the creativity in this movie because like someone above said, there isn't any blood/gore/explosions/guns.

I actually got a kick out of the movie. Loved how each character played a role in the movie.

I fell asleep during this one. My wife loved it, I found it to be really boring. And the PQ was not great at all.

I loved this movie too. You have to appreciate this movie out side the box.

Sorry to resurrect a very old post, but is there anyone here who likes The Happening that can comment on Lady in the Water? I'm one of the few that really like the Happening, but I hated The 6th Sense and Signs (I liked Unbreakable also), and haven't seen the other Shaylman films including Lady in the Water. So I'm wondering what the thoughts of this film were from any of the two other people out there that like The Happening

I can admit that I am an M. Night Fanboy and if you look at my BD collection on here currently they only one I have on blu is the Happening. To give you an opinion I'll rank his movies in order that I like them.

Signs
The Sixth Sense
The Happening
Lady In The Water
Unbreakable
Wide Awake
The Village
The Last Airbender (and I'm an Avatar: The Last Airbender fan)

Didn't like the movie. Rather get The Village, Signs, or The Sixth Sense.

I can't comment on that, because I think "The Happening" is the only one of his films I haven't seen...... BUT.... I can tell you that Lady In The Water is the only film of his that I like, and I think it's a great film.

Thanks all for the feedback.

Propellarhead9, good to see someone else who has The Happening not ranked last So you'd put Lady above Unbreakable. That is a pretty good recommendation.
