Anyone having problems with the movie freezing up on their player. I have a Sony BDPS550 with latest firmware. Extended version starts to freeze up on scene 4. The theatrical version plays fine.

Watched it (the extended version) and Pitch Black last night. Worked fine here (using a PS3 though). Try wiping down the disc but since the theatrical version worked, doubt it'll help.

I ran in to the same problem in the same place. I'm using a 1st gen PS3. I would return it to Amazon but I'm not sure that will fix the problem. It could be a bad run of discs.

I bought the Pitch Black, CoR, two pack.

I didn't have time to watch the whole movie, but I fast-forwarded through the whole thing without problems, and I watched all of Chapter 4 (using a 60GB ps3).

Is the error reproducable, or was it a one-time thing? And at what exact time does it freeze?

Same thing happen with my disc. Player: Panasonic BD35K

I also bought the Pitch Black/CoR two pack (Amazon)

Same problem here. Two pack bought from Best Buy. Froze up on extended version in the same area. I double checked the freeze around 3 times and it was consistent. It didn't freeze, however, if I was fast-forwarding. I continued watching with no further problems. Playing on PS3 80 gig w/ all updates. Thanks for posting. I'm glad it's the disc and not my BD drive frying again. I hope it's not the same w/ all the discs. I'll be exchanging in a day or two. Please post again with your results if you exchange.

Can someone post the time-stamp where it freezes? I got the 2-pack from Best Buy, and played it on a PS3 60 GB with the latest firmware. I didn't watch the whole movie, but I watched from the end of chapter 3 to the beginning of chapter 5 for the extended version and there was no freezing.

I'm curious. The point where it freezes, is this a directors cut/unrated scene? I had the same problem with my unrated Hancock. It would freeze where the unrated footage started but the theatrical version played flawlessly.

Same here except I have the PS3 40(replaced with 250 GB drive) and now this has me worried.

PS3 20 GB(now 320 GB). I watched the unrated version and had no freezing at all.

i had the same problem not exactly sure but i know it was aroung the 14 min mark freezes and skips about 20 to 30 seconds of the movie. i switched my copy today but i as well bought the 2 pack. if it happens again i can only assume that the two pack seem to be bad batches. can any one specify if this happens with the stand alone copy?

Been fine on my 350?.....hmmm. You would think since they are almost the same machines it would play fine on both.

I've only been able to sit and watch about half of the extended version on my 80 GB PS3, but it played through with no problems until I had to turn it off. I plan to finish watching it today though, and I'll post back with my results. I also didn't have any trouble with the extended version of Hancock, as someone brought up in an earlier post.

2pack version plays fine on my s350.

Mine was also a 2-pack but I got it from Best Buy. My PS3 is the 60-gig version and I've now tried it with firmware 2.6 and 2.7 without any problems.

I don't think they're talking about the edit jumps since the director mentions you might notice that sort of thing at the very beginning of the movie. They're barely noticeable (to me anyway). Edit: Although, maybe it's more noticeable on other players? It does only affect the extended edition.

I just watched it on my first-gen PS3, and it did the exact same thing on the extended cut. I rented it though, so I don't know if it was from a 2-pack or single disc.
