Default Turner Classic Movies Discussion Thread (Vault Collection and Exclusives).

A small but growing collection of classics on Blu-ray released exclusively through Turner Classic Movies.

Where to order

These titles can only be ordered at the TCM Store: http://shop.tcm.com/tcm-exclusives/i...ult-collection This link includes TCM Shop DVDs and blu-rays, so be careful to choose the correct version when ordering.

NOTE: The Lady from Shanghai comes in two versions. The one linked below is the re-issue version using the MPEG-4 codec and Blu-ray case that replaced the original VC-1 issue in a DVD case.

What I find interesting is Time Warner's ability to work with every single studio when it comes to home video release. Now the deal TCM has struck with Disney has me hoping that soon that vault might be cracked.

I wonder what is holding these up? The way Sony likes to dump Columbia releases off on anyone with a checkbook you'd think these would of happened by now.

On their web site Remember The Night doesn't appear to be included in the 20% off + free shipping sale. However, i called customer service and it went right through. $18.99 plus tax, no shipping. If you're interested in the film it's worth a call.

Glad to see this thread.

I've got The Lady from Shanghai and Only Angels Have Wings, and I ordered Remember the Night just now with the discount.

Is this sale still going on? I picked up The Lady From Shanghai but I have to admit, I've never seen Remember The Night but it is on TCM Thursday. I wanted to get it because I love Christmas movies but hate blind buys.

Is there a review any place for The Iron Petticoat? I might pick it up since it is $11.99 with free shipping.

I really hope this company doesn't release any film I want to purchase, because they don't include English subtitles, for heaven's sake! (and they don't seem to want to, in the future)
(i share this hope for Olive Films too)

My copy of Only Angels Have Wings arrived a couple of days ago. Nice slip over a clear Blu-ray case. I look forward to watching it tonight.

Last night I watched The Whole Town's Talking with Edward G. Robinson from 1935 on TCM (I DVR'd it from December 2nd). There is no doubt this has had a 4K restoration, it looked flawless (as far as tv goes). It was the best I've ever seen a movie on TCM look. They tend to show old and outdated damaged prints a lot. I would put money on this being issued on blu-ray in 2015. It is a Columbia release but it's old enough and obscure enough that Twilight Time probably won't touch it. I think TCM is probably the best best. I did a google search and it looks like this has never even been released on DVD. I may be speculating but I think TCM is going to release a decent amount of movies next year.

Any word or thoughts on if The Blue Dahlia will eventually be receiving a Blu-ray upgrade?

Would love a blu release, Ford, Edward G., Jean Arthur. And yes hopefully we see a decent output this year from TCM.

TCM released a DVD a little over a year ago in a John Ford at Columbia set. The films include The Whole Town's Talking (1935), The Long Gray Line (1955), Gideon of Scotland Yard (1958), The Last Hurrah (1958) & Two Rode Together (1961).

It's been a while since I watched the DVD, but I recall the quality being very good. It's by far the most "un-John Ford-ian" John Ford film I've ever seen. It's more of a screwball comedy playing off of Eddie G's gangster image.
