I could bet that the persons who had this idea took this decesion were white.
Someday people will have to realize this cultural-torching-extreme-political-correctness nazis will only cause division and make the right wing political spectrum more popular. This sounds crazy,i know ,but i started thinking this reverse psychology has been probably used by the white supremacist masterminds for quite a while to shift liberal white masses towards the right. My favorite Little Britain sketch..."Boris The Babysitter" is the one that an eastern european like me"has to"be offended by ...but here you go. In all seriousness i'm starting to think it's just a matter of time before movies like "Taxi Driver" will disappear from al media distribution channels. |

Nah, no reverse psychology going on. It's the actions of the useful idiots/empty vessels on the mid to far left who are shifting many to the right. EDIT: Or should I say towards the right, after all political beliefs (unlike gender) are a spectrum. EDIT 2: Off topic but I need to express this somewhere. Just read that the above mentioned useful BLM idiots/empty vessels want the removal of the statue of Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey in Newcastle because upon freeing the slaves in the British Empire his government compensated their former owners. These people are utter morons. Last edited by Fnord Prefect; 06-10-2020 at 05:49 PM. |

The best recent example was probably when BBC News stated "27 police hurt at mostly peaceful protest" You couldn't make it up. To keep on topic though I'd wait for it to hit sale prices and wait for A/V reviews I'd probably buy a Little Britain blu-ray as season 1 is still pretty funny. Season 2 less so but has it's moments. An uncut Rock profiles disc would be great as well but even with the BBC's "special relationship" with the MCPS licencing all the music videos would probably make it financially unviable. |

Good idea to get Little Britain seeing as it's no longer available to stream, as I understand it. I gather the BBC have also pulled out League Of Gentlemen and another show (can't remember which it was now) for PC reasons. That's why I'm a big supporter of physical media - once it's in your hands, nothing can alter it. |

Yes, it may not sit well in these politically correct times, but these shows were typical of their day and I just find it ridiculous to sanitize old shows just to pacify the younger generation. This comment caught my eye from an online paper: "The removal comes amid a re-energised debate on how best to deal with parts of well-known films and TV shows that are now deemed offensive by portions of modern audiences". There are many things I find offensive on TV these days as well........such as constant soaps, reality and makeover shows and shit like that. I don't demand that they're removed - I simply don't watch them. Why can't the snowflakes do likewise with older programmes they don't agree with! ![]() They mentioned Dad's Army as well, but don't know which episode they were specifically talking about. |

Yup, being "offended" only gives you special powers if you're in the right group. I'm offended by having to share this planet with most of these cretins, yet I don't see them offering to off themselves to placate my sensibilities.

Trying to get TV shows pulled must be the modern equivalent of burning books.
Most of these shows highlight racism to put bigots on the spike. Alt Garnett is a classic example. People aren’t laughing with Alf, they’re laughing at him. I don’t know when ridiculing bigotry became a bad thing...To me, this lack of awareness just confirms that most of the triggered are nowhere near as clever as they think they are. Now, if they took down LB because they said it’s s**t then I’d probably agree with them.... ![]() |

On another film forum I'm on, someone mentioned Carry On Up The Khyber as being a film which could come under scrutiny. If you're a Carry On fan like me, you'll remember Kenneth Williams' role, and I'll be amazed if this one doesn't get mentioned in the media....if it hasn't already done so. |

That was one of a number of films that were banned on UK TV - apparently at the government's request rather than a purely internal decision by the BBC or ITV - for the duration of the first Gulf War (Follow That Camel was also banned, as was Khartoum). Race was not a factor in the decision: they were also 'advised' not to show any modern or desert war films during that time to avoid upsetting the families of servicemen during the conflict.
