Now that the movie is a go, anyone wanting to see these three seasons released on Blu-ray? I hope so. One of the better shows in recent years.

I was hoping for the same thing! WB must surely see that there's a dedicated fanbase now that the movie goal was reached in under 24 hours. I hope that means a blu-ray release will come.

I think WB would get more money from blu-ray sales. Apparently the DVD's are selling nicely now. iTunes already has I think the whole series in 1080, so we know it's ready. A blu-ray release with a big sticker about the movie and the kick starter record breaking seems like a no brainer.

Never liked the show, but love Kristen Bell's movies. It'd be awesome for fans to get it on Blu-ray.

It seems like alot of the fans on the kickstarter page have mentioned wanting the upcoming movie on blu-ray, so I think it would be worth it to release seasons 1-3. iTunes has it in HD so it does exist, and the dvds seem to be selling out on Amazon. Come on, WB!!

Maybe someone should start a campaign to get the show on Blu-ray? I really hope they realize how much people want this series on Blu-ray. I would love to have it ready when the movie is released. Plus, I recently sold my DVD sets.

I really don't understand why this has not been announced yet. Releasing the three seasons on Blu-ray should be a no brainer. The masters are there, so just put them on Blu-ray and include the special features from the DVDs.

Veronica Mars was the trending topic on twitter during Comic Con. The preview video on youtube has been watched a million times in just one week. WB, don't pretend that there's not enough demand for this...

Count me in as someone who would buy this on Blu. Can never get enough of this show. WB might wait to see how the movie does. Just because its Kickstarter was so successful and it's trending on twitter (still think that is more hype than anything of true significance), doesn't mean it will be a profitable venture for WB. Profit is what will be the deciding factor. I really hope it happens though.

I would buy it...duh.

I think there's a far greater chance of a VM sequel than the studio deciding to put the first 3 seasons of a show they asked the fans to fund most of the funds for a feature film on blu-ray.

Streaming in HD is available and will probably become more widely available in the near future. That's all we're gonna get, fellow marshmallows.

If we've learned anything this year, it's that Veronica Mars fans don't have to settle. We got our movie made in the right location with the right cast and creative team.

I'm gonna go ahead and call VM on BD an eventuality. Hopefully by the time the film comes out. At LEAST Warner Archives, if not full retail.

Still hoping for a Veronica Mars series Blu-ray release. Maybe a complete series set could be released to coincide with the movie's Blu-ray release?

This is a good point. Warner Archives is now releasing TV shows on Blu-ray. If not full retail, which I think would work, then a Warner Archive release at least since die-hard fans would definitely buy all three seasons on Blu-ray.

One of my all-time favorite shows! I would double dip for a Blu-ray release in a heartbeat! Can't wait for the movie and I hope that I can re-watch the entire series on blu by that time!! Bring it on WB!!

This show made me fall in love with KB and I've been a huge fan of hers ever since. My wife has never seen the show and we've started to watch the dvd's a few times. I would much rather re-watch the series on blu than the old dvd's.

So, with all this talk about the movie someone asked on twitter @veronicamars in august if the series will be released on Blu-ray. The answer was:
Quote:
Right now, we haven’t heard of any official plans. We have heard it would be REALLY expensive to convert for BluRay, though.
I don't know what would be so expensive about this. There have to be HD masters since it aired on HDTV and is available on iTunes - I don't know if it's only available in 720p or also in 1080p

A week ago it was announced that the series is now available streaming on amazon prime. In the backer update Rob Thomas said:
Quote:
Since production started, we have gotten a lot of requests to make the original three seasons of the series available for streaming online. Obviously, that’s a good idea. Less obviously, it’s also much, much, much more complicated than it sounds. I don’t fully understand it myself, so I won’t try to explain all of the details, but it’s a huge, complex process.
I don't know what that complex process is but maybe it's the same that would be needed for a Blu-ray release. In that case the Blu-ray release got a little step closer.

I know both quotes could speak of totally different processes but I'm still hoping for a release. With a movie, a book and a web series what better moment could there be?

4K remaster with a 7.1 mix. That's all I ask. The show had amazing cinematography.

Ha... 4K remaster and 7.1 mix? From WB? For a TV series? THAT won't happen.

However, this series seriously deserves a Blu-ray release. At LEAST through the Warner Archive Blu-ray program if nothing else. I bet it would sell better than they think, given that the Veronica Mars movie did quite well.

Which is why they should hire someone who is a huge fan of the show and also happens to be an expert at digital restoring. Remember Adywan who did those Star Wars revisions? They look MUCH better than what Lucasfilms gave us, and he didn't even have as much money as they do.
