I assume (I know, one should never...) this is the Richard Matheson/Spielberg collaboration? Does this website export to the US?

Yes they ship to the states.

A 2K DCP for this has been screened at a theatre near me, so the transfer for this should be good.

But seeing as it's universal, maybe some DNR? Didn't get to see it

I hope this release materialises. Duel is an excellent film and has always been one of my favourites.

I would think it's likely to be announced in some other European countries as well in the near future. It would be unusual for a major studio like Universal to release a title only in the Netherlands.

I can try see if they still have the details up though

Edit: Nothing about aspect ratio, but it does give a 90 minute run time if that indicates anything

Some research shows me that 90 minutes is the theatrical cut, and the theatrical ratio is 1.85:1, with 1.33:1 being the tv ratio.

Wow. Hope this does get released. And hopefully in the U.S. too. Duel is an amazing film and an early indication of Spielberg's immense talents.

What is even more amazing is that one of the fan editors on fanedit.org did an edit cropping it down to 2.35:1 and he discovered that Spielberg framed it for a theatrical presentation.

That isn't surprising given that it was also released theatrically after it's success in several European countries.

DUEL will be part of a Steven Spielberg Collection by Universal coming out later this year in Germany!

Just got word from Universal Pictures Netherlands. This was a mistake from the webshop.
No release at the moment.

But perhaps not a individual release. But like other countries in that Steven Spielberg Director's Collection release??
