Default Practical Magic/Witches of Eastwick Blu-ray Release

Is it as good quality as Last boy scout/Last man standing in the PQ and AQ department?

In the other thread about this release, someone posted a link to a review that writes about the PQ/AQ. I will post it here to make it all too easy for you: http://www.dvdtown.com/review/practi...k/blu-ray/8220

I agree...but I haven't bought it yet. I want it to come down a bit in price.
I'm only interested in Witches of Eastwick, I'm not familiar with Practical Magic.

I would wait for a more reputable review.

Or at least a site that didn't give the new Predator release a 8/10 for picture quality.

Witches Of Eastwick is defo the more superior movie. I have this blu-ray and watched it last night. Iv'e watched it on my dvd many times and as soon as i put this disc in my blu-ray i was like "Wow" It really does look really good for a movie from 1987.There's some grain as you would expect but its so much clearer(Even background detail too) I always remember the tennis match scene looked particulary bad on dvd but here it was like watching a new movie. The audio was ok(I was a bit disappointed they didn't include John Williams Isolated Music score- as was on the dvd)but then this isn't a strong audio film anyway apart from the end and a few thunderstorms throughout. I don't know how Warners have done it but i was really impressed. Im watching Practical Magic at the weekend but i don't remember it being a particularly memeorable film anyway. If you like the movie its well worth the upgrade- I'm probably gonna get the Last Boy Scout combo now too. I hope Warners makes Mars Attacks look this good too when it comes out !

Thumbs up good Combo

both movies look great and sound it too for there age, most eighties and 90's movies were done on film that detoriated easie but it seems that these two movies were well taken care of. I liked both of them

We'll have our review up soon--Monday at the latest--but, yes, both films look decent on Blu-ray. Colors in Practical Magic seem a bit overpumped to my eyes, and the overall look is a little soft for both, but really, not much to complain about. Certainly no overt DNR/EE/compression artifacts. If you like the films, there's no real reason not to pick this two-fer up.

If I recall correctly it was like that in the theater. Nicole Kidman's hair especially stands out in my memory.

Look forward to the review!

Loved Witches of Eastwick, but wasn't a fan of Practical Magic. I really didn't want the combo Blu ray. Amazon France has the stand alone Blu ray of Witches of Eastwick for 8.64 euros..... with the present conversion rate it is cheap even with shipping. It's listed here as region B, but Amazon claims it's "all regions". I decided to take a chance and ordered it. I can confirm it's region free and has DTS HD MA 5.1. with no forced subtitles. The picture is decent for an older catalogue title. Just thought I'd post the info in case anyone was interested in this title.
