Is there any release that has the original music ?

I know the Shout DVD doesn't , neither does the British Region B release .

Does the German blu ray ?

I have the first four seasons of the original DVD releases , but I assume they don't have the original music either .

From what I have heard, the foreign blu-ray set does have the original music. Assuming that the Shout discs are re-pressings of the original Universal DVDs, then the first season should feature the original music.

The UK Blu-ray has the original music and the picture quality is a solid 7/10

I really do hate when they can't get the rights for these sets. I didn't know it was different, as haven't watched my NE set yet. I found out recently that Bosom Buddies was changed, and it just irks me to no end... Now I'm going to have to find the UK set lol

Thanks for the insight.

Is it just the main title song that is changed, or is music all across the episodes?

I believe the main title song is the same .

Was asking about the music throughout the series .

I can't remember the specific episode , but it had an Enya song that was absolutely perfect for that scene/episode .

Without the original songs , it's not worth purchasing .

Are you sure that the UK set has the original songs ? I was under the impression that it didn't . If it does , that will motivate me to get a region free player .

But I know that the Shout DVD set doesn't .

I guess it's safe to assume that the Wiseguy set doesn't have the original songs . The cost of getting the rights to all of them would require a Marvel movie budget .

I agree about Bosom Buddies, and the theme being changed. Annoying for sure.

The UK release from Fabulous has all the music, but is region locked, isn't it?

The German release from Turbine also has all music, but is region-free if that makes a difference to you.

This has always been a huge favorite of mine and did not buy the DVD series when I read about the music snafu. But then I got the complete DVD series as a Christmas present and not once did I notice any difference in the theme of any episode due to a different song being played. The entire series still was as captivating as it was when it first came out (which I never missed an episode the entire time it ran.) Just my observation.

For what it's worth I purchased the Shout! Factory set and rewatched the series at the beginning of the pandemic, and besides the opening (which I skipped anyway) I didn't really notice any difference from what I remember watching on VHS back in the day...

Would love to see a bluray release someday. Unfortunate that great shows like this get overlooked.

Growing up I remember seeing commercials for this series on antenna TV.

I am so grateful that I waited to watch it on the 2K blu-ray remaster.
