Well, now you finally know why my nickname is UniSol GR77.

1- Universal Soldier: Regeneration (2009)
A sci-fi masterpiece that feels like a cross between David Cronenberg, John Carpenter and Metal Gear. Cold, ruthless, fascinating, thrilling, exciting and visually marvellous.

2- Universal Soldier (1992)
The classic that started it all! Wonderful, fun, intriguing, cool, plenty of memorable scenes. Jean-Claude and Dolph at their best.

3- Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning (2012)
Frightening sci-fi/action jewel, very mysterious and engaging. Scott Adkins did a good job as the new lead character, John.
Luc Deveraux in his "Apocalypse Now" guise is scary and tormented. Exceptional.

4- Universal Soldier: The Return (1999)
It looks and feels like an average Van Damme flick. Still, it features great action and a new batch of Universal Soldiers. Making Luc human again was a big mistake. Good movie, not great.

It's undeniable that "The Return" is the bottom of any UniSol list.

Wondering if we will ever get the video-sequels on HD, that would be good in my book.

Well:

I placed DOR at #3 just because it was an experimental Universal Soldier movie. That said, it was fantastic and compelling.

Hopefully, both Regeneration and Day of Reckoning had been profitable in the video market. I guess they had been video hits?

I remember first watching DOR and it played on my mind so had to watch it again the next day. I would like John Hyams to make another to see where he would take it, but i think it confused alot of people so got mixed reviews.

I think Hyams should create a "third chapter" and round out his trilogy. I'm sure it would be as much different to DOR as DOR was to US:R.

Well, Regeneration is vastly different from the original, as well as Day of Reckoning. If you love serious, cold and menacing sci-fi mixed with action and even horror, well, you should absolutely check those ones.
