Braveheart is my all time favorite movie and I am drooling for a high-def release and the current re-release of it on DVD was crappy and I remember Paramount saying a high-def version was in the works.

its distributed by fox in europe, so im hoping at least being able to import it to me here in the US

when I meant hi-def I meant Blu-ray since it is hi-def isn't it? I didn't say HD-DVD. Plus Paramount is neutral, they released Face/Off in both Blu-ray and hd-dvd why wouldn't they do the same for Braveheart?

Did you miss the news?

Paramount hasn't been neutral for months---HD-DVD exclusive now, thanks to a big fat payoff from Toshiba.

Today an old woman at Walmart told me she saw E.T. in Hi Def today while she browsed the HDduds. She also told me that Close Encounters was really good too.

Just saying cause this is as good a thread as any to say it.

Fox is also the distributor for Braveheart in South East Asia, so that's a Region A title for sure. I believe Fox also have the deal in Japan and Australia but I can't be sure of that.

So if Paramount release this, Fox can too and make it even better than the HD-DVD version. To spite Paramount, they can release it "region all".

face off isn't available for BLU in the US but is available in the UK

Paramount is HD-DVD exclusive here in the US

Braveheart is one of my top 5 favorites..I would love Paramount to join Blu-ray and release this movie.
