Does anyone have this set? I was thinking about ordering it, but I'm not sure if this release has any kind of forced subtitles. Does anyone know? Does M6 Video have a history of locking subtitles at all?

Appreciate all help!

Unsure, but the German release is not only cheaper, but definitely has removable subs.

Alright, thanks for the info. I'll probably get that one. I have several titles from both Amazon DE and FR that I want, so I'll consider the best option.

I have this set and I have a problem with it. When I play it back on either of my Panasonic BD players, I get sound, but no picture. I'm using HDMI from both of my BD players to my Sony HDTVs. Other discs work fine, just not these. Any ideas?

Probably a 1080/50i encode. Almost all France-specific TV releases are 1080/50i (unless it's a US-made program), and because of the 25fps video, you would get sound, but no picture. This is assuming you are using equipment in the North American (60Hz) standard.

The German and Australian releases are definitely 1080i/50hz.

Seems like the UK set is the better choice? PQ wise at least.

What UK set? We're talking about the TV series.

It was never released in the UK. Not even on DVD.

That's absolutely the problem. The French version is region free, but is 1080/50i. The Australia edition from Umbrella is Region B, but is also 1080/50i. To get this title in a format we can play here, you have to drop $100 to get the 6-disc Japanese edition.

The TNT broadcasts are altered - mostly for language.
