Default Any Blu promotion at Disney Parks?

My family & I were at Disney World in Orlando about 10 months ago, and I don't recall seeing any promotion of Blu-ray anywhere, especially "Downtown Disney" area.
Has anyone been to any of the Disney parks lately, and if so, are they starting to promote Blu-ray at their parks?

I was at Disneyland in September and I didn't see any info on Blu-ray but they did carry it their music/dvd store. They castmember told me that they might pull them from their shelves because they were not selling well, but then again they were on a top shelf behind the counter were you couldn't get to them or see them.

I was at Disney World late march and not a BR to be seen. I didn't spend much time at Virgin so maybe there?

My wife and I were just there in mid Oct. and they didn't have much of anything. I did end up buying a few in "Downtown Disney", but that was the only place I noticed them....

Sounds like they have a few in "Downtown Disney", but not really promoting it there...? I guess they are trying to keep people more focused on their parks, which I can understand having been there, but it would be nice to see a few stands/posters in the "Downtown Disney" area. They have so many HUGE Plasma/LCD screen around those shops promoting DVD's and such, that it would be nice if they had one for one of their new releases in Blu-ray (maybe POTC-AWE?)...here's to wishing!

But I guess Disney is definitely doing their part outside their Amusement Parks, with the Magical Blu Tour thing, so I am not complaining! Go Disney!

Me too, I booked early at DisneyStore for Dec. 23rd in Anaheim, CA with my whole family! I went to Disneyland at this summer before school start and I liked the parade during the night. I never seen the parade like that with full of Fireworks and Tinklebell floating above the sky! Now this time, I want to see the beautiful Christmas Parade! I wish Mariah Carey or Kelly Clarkson to perform & sing Christmas song on stage.

lol...I'm sure for someone who's never been there and seen it, to hear "Tinkerbell floating in the sky", must be thinking we're a little off, as I think I'd probably wonder myself. However for those reading, trust us, the whole castle fireworks thing, live in front of your face, are awesome, and tinkerbell is an actual 'real' person in a special suit (of lights), that is hanging on a wire over 100 feet in the air (can't see the wire at night), flies through the air from above the castle to another location in the park...quite spectacular when you see it in person...

Anyway, would be nice to see them do some more Blu promotion at the stores & parks though.

Disneylands are a bit late normally. I remembered being in disneyland (both Los Angeles (1999) and Paris (1999/2000)) when the adoption of DVD just started. They only sells VHS tapes.

I got my first DVD at a shop, not at disneyland. And of course, my first DVD was a Disney as well. Tarzan

not at disneyland. it was originally in New York, but I guess it's now exclusive to Orlando's Disneyland.
If you want to hear it, buy Ultimate Disney Album (2 Discs+1 Bonus Disc) or Walt Disney's Treasure "Tomorrowland" - you got to find the easter egg, and it's walt disney himself singing the song, along with shermans brothers.
Even I had to work hard to get that DVD from USA (not available in UK), finding the right shop, and buy Indonesian PS2 (modified to play all region)

If I’m not mistaken that’s the song that the “animatronic Walt” and family sing at the Carousel of Progress in Tomorrow land. When they show the family of tomorrow it would have been nice to see a blu-ray player….

I bet it won't be long before a lot of the videos, 3d movies, theatres, rides that have screens, etc., that they have at the Disney Theme Parks, will be run off of the best quality Blu-ray Disney can put out...

Yes, I owned the video of the show (45 mins total - including extras). Somebody over the internet taped it inside the show and adding some extras such as walt disney explaining how to make the doll move.
but I think originally it was in EPCOT New york

I was there in Sept. and there was no sign of Blu ray anywhere! Even all the little shops at all the parks had nothing. Their movie sections however small only had DVD copies, while the only place I found BR was at the Virgin store in downtown disney. They had equal self space for both formats and their prices were sky high. Complete and total rip-off.

Disneyworld is a prime place to advertise. Millions of people past through there every year. Its Disney's duty to do so!

You’re 100% right. It’s mentioned either on the ride or in the pamphlet that the ride was ridiculously popular when it was debuted in New York. At Disney in October I didn’t even have to wait in line!

I was on Holiday in Walt Disney World end of October 2007. They had Roving Mars Blu-Ray when you came out of Mission Space ride into shop. Most Blu-ray's were found in Virgin Megastore at Downtown Disney. The odd Blu-ray in park shops, but mainly DVD, and heavily promoting the new Jungle Book edition DVD. But not a single HD-DVD at Universal Studios.
