Nice that's getting a slightly wider release in the US but with it being a title that popped up on Sony's 4K survey I'm probably going to wait out.

Identical to the Twilight Time then, except it drops the isolated score.

Durr. They omitted this from the UK/Europe discs forcing me to keep the DVD (this one and Ang Lee's Sense & Sensibility).

the Twilight Time release was available for under ten bucks.... seems like most people would already own this if interested.

Outstanding film btw....

Damn. :\

I wonder how low this will eventually go...one of the few period dramas I like.

Wonderful film. Own the UK release with the washed-out spectral cover but since it is one of my favorites I'd replace it with the warmer, original Sony cover in a shot if the transfer matches up.

The TT sold out earlier this year, which likely prompted this release.

I paid $30 when TT first released this and it was worth every cent. I'm happy this is being released again because it deserves a wider audience.

I usually like the original poster artwork too, but I really also like the TT cover.

It's fine too, if a bit dismal...but the Sony artwork just has a warmer, more intimate feel that kind of sets a gentler, 'cozier' mood for revisiting this fascinating world. I will be interested though to see if there are any comments or issues regarding the Sony transfer on the 'Beaver' comparison website or elsewhere.

Only sold out becuase it hit prices far lower than this new release is.

That being said, it is a great film and is worth more than I paid for it on Sale.

Glad it is getting another release but really makes me wonder how they will market it to get some sales. Other tites sold out and have seen insane after market prices, I don't think this is one of them. And those films havent seen anohter release.

TT selling out doesn't seem to be a driver for the studios to release or not release something.

There are likely thousands of buyers who were never aware of the Twilight Time release. Some people may even want to flip their current disc and pick up this one for the superior jacket and spine artwork. Happy to hang on to my existing copy with the isolated score, but regardless this film being back in print is a good thing.

I already own the TT release. Guess there’s no need to double dip but I’m glad that it’s getting a wider release.

Sony's faux-like grain ?
It's probably just the encode being better and more respectful of the master's high frequencies content. I doubt TT, if not retaining this, is clearer and sharper.

Are you referring to the screen caps? If so, ignore that about the comparison pics since, for some reason, they're 1920 x 1090 px. However they were captured, something manipulated the screen dimensions.
