It seems like a lot of incredible films are coming out this year. What are your guys's most anticipated movies for this year?
1. Foxcatcher -Wow just from the trailer this film looks haunting. It's been getting fantastic reviews, and has gotten particular praise for Steve Carell and Channing Tatum's performances. I've been waiting for Steve Carell to take on a dramatic role like this, since I truly believe he has acting talent. 2. Boyhood -This has apparently been released already, but it hasn't been shown in my city yet. I'm really fascinated of the brilliant idea of a coming of age film taking place over 12 years, and seeing the actors get older throughout the film. 3. Birdman -Finally a new movie with Michael Keaton! How long has it been? The trailer for the film looks fantastic and hopefully Keaton is finally going to be nominated for an oscar. Apparently the cinematographer is giving the appearance that the film is one continuous long take, which I think is an awesome concept. 4. Inherit Vice -It's Paul Thomas Anderson, what more can I say? From early reviews, it seems like its very different from his typical films, which I'm all for. The cast is very promising and overall it's a film I don't want to miss. 5. A Walk Among the Tombstones -The trailer for this movie is fantastic. It's not possible to see the trailer for this thing and be underwhelmed. Liam Neeson looks amazing in this film and from what I've heard, the novel it's based off of is very good. 6. Kill The Messenger -Another trailer that just really sold me. Jeremy Renner is one of my favorite actors of this generation, and he really looks good in this film, and so does the rest of the cast. 7. Life Of Crime -Prequel for Jackie Brown? I'm all for it! Not to mention the novel it's based on is so much better than Rum Punch. Sad to see that Tarantino isn't behind this, but the trailer for it looks very promising along with a solid cast. I think that Mos Def is pretty underrated and I'm glad to see him in something new. 8. The Cobbler -I don't know much about this film, but I know enough to want to see it. I've been waiting forever to see Adam Sandler in another dramatic role as he's done fantastic in previous ones, (Punch-Drunk Love, Reign Over Me, Funny People) and under the right director, he can be great. In this case it's Thomas McCarthy, so I'm fairly sure this film will turn out to be good. Plus the supporting cast includes Dustin Hoffman and Steve Buscemi. It's gotta be decent. 9. Fury -It's been a while since a good WW2 flick has came out. With the exception of Shia Lebouf, the cast looks great. The effects also look incredible. I feel as if this film has potential to be great. 10. The Immigrant -From what I've seen, this movie looks so beautiful. It almost seems like it's worth watching just from the cinematography, it looks amazing. From what I've heard the film is melodramatic, but from what I've seen it looks decent. The cast is great, and Jeremy Renner looks especially good in this. Definitely going to try and check this one out. Last edited by jabbercash; 07-25-2014 at 11:11 AM. |
