Playmobil will clearly break box-office records.

Would have been a good weekend for Cats to open, if not the very next weekend. They would have gotten some premium format screens. I don’t think they’ll have any opening alongside Star Wars on the 20th.

Next week’s premium screens are for Jumanji I’m sure. Anyway, week after Thanksgiving is always a quiet weekend, I fully expect Frozen to dominate until Jumanji comes out (apparently tickets for Playmobil will be $5 at least at Regal showing how little faith STX have in it).

I think Dark Waters will be expanding wide this weekend also, but who knows if it is like 1K or 3K theaters. I wish IMAX would give screens to the limited release of The Aeronauts this weekend, but believe that is international only because of it hitting Prime a few weeks later in America.

Don't know why Black Christmas isn't opening this weekend. Universal did well with Krampus.

That’s true, forgot about Jumanji. That should easily dominate that weekend and end Frozen’s streak.

I was hoping Waves would expand more. Looks like it maxed out at 21 theaters. It never played at any of the AMCs in my area, despite being one of their “Artisan Films”. Which I don’t think means much. One of the Regals has it though for the next couple of days.

Would, if the fx were finished. Have heard they're still working on it. Not entirely unusual for a major fx film, but still...

They’re marketing it with “Friday the 13th”. It’s a slasher film and Krampus is more family oriented, even though both are rated PG-13.

Can't believe there's actually something called Playmobil the movie. This just reeks of uninspired Hollywood at it's worst.

What's next, Lincoln Logs: The Movie?

When that first trailer for CATS dropped, I mocked it a lot on Facebook...and I have seen the trailer on every single movie I've seen since. I wish it was opening this weekend too, the torture is too much.

Yes both are expanding wide this weekend. Dark Waters should definitely get into over 1,000 theaters. I would think Honey Boy would be like 600-700. My Marcus is getting Dark Waters, Honey Boy, and Waves. I'm happy about that but it's perplexing we never got Jojo Rabbit or Parasite. The latter is more understandable since they are not great with foreign films.

My theatre is getting Dark Waters and Honey Boy, yes! Also getting Jojo Rabbit. Weird since the crappy AMC Classic had it weeks ago.

My theatre also has $5 tickets for Playmobil lmao. Maybe it will work enough to get them $10M opening weekend.
