Default Reverse Cover Art

Excuse me if there's already a thread on this, I wasn't sure what to search under, but who else gets really annoyed by the studios who leave the backside of the cover art white? If you're going to be using a clear case have something on the other side of the cover art, otherwise it ends up looking really cheap. I love Sony Blu-Ray's for this reason, there's always something on the other side.

I've seen dvds do the same in the past. I've also seen dvds where it would come in just a normal black case but did come with a reversible cover on the other side that probably not everyone knew about unless it mentioned it on the back cover side everyone could see.

Default What?

What difference does it make. Hopefully you are buying movies that you like and not ones based on what is on the reverse side of the box cover.

I started a thread about this over a year ago but it wasn't too popular so I don't blame you

I agree completely, it is something they really overlook.

Something on the back would be nice, even if it was for upcoming releases, or more films within a series of films.

it's something I always notice and I love having it there. The white ones seem just a lil cheaper to me.

Not even really art, but every once in a while, it would be great to know that the chapter selections are listed in the artwork. Now unless you're pretty much forced to take the time to load it into your BD player, wait for all the warnings that you can't skip through, the possible interactive menu and then you can finally see the list. They should re-think the strategy of the artwork inside.

I hate white reverse art. It's just cheaper for them.

I would like to see chapter selections listed on the reverse side. Throw in a little art some chapter selection and we are good to go.

I like the Fullmetal Alchemist DVD's because they have clear cases with art on both sides.

I was really surprised when Funimation's Dragonball Z movies had art on the reverse side. Funny how a small company like them can get it right but a major company like Fox can't.

I thought it was cool how Paramount did up There Will Be Blood with changeable cover.

I consider the inside art, when we get it, to be a nice bonus. It doesnt make the stuff without it seem cheap, simply because that's what I'm used to.

Ice cream is good. And I'll take plain ice cream and love it. If I can get rainbow sprinkles or some carmel drizzled over it, then I'll love it even more. But it certainly wont make me hate plain ice cream.

It's not a deal breaker for me when it's not there, but it's a very nice touch when it is. As already mentioned, the chapter list is a nice touch also.

A cursory look a some of my BDs, and all had white backs to the outside cover artwork. Paramount's "Chinatown" had a booklet.

Scream Factory's "Cat People" had artwork on the inside, which was actually an alternate reversible cover. I flipped it, because I like the Nastassia Kinski cover better than the cover with her & Malcolm McDowell, and John Heard on it.

Their release of "Lifeforce" had an alternative cover on the flip side as well which used the same artwork as the original DVD release basically, no UPC on the back portion which I liked as well.

The Master and Ain't Them Bodies Saints are 2 blus that come to mind with reversible cover art. I switch them back forth every once in a while just to change things up.

A lot of scream factory releases have reversible covers, I know that day of the dead and the fog both have them.
