Not sure how true Rotten Tomatoes is, but, it has a December 22nd release day for Insidious: Chapter 2.

You'd be better off saving your money, I saw this in the theater today and IMO, I thought it was AWFUL...and along with I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, one of the worst horror movie sequels I have ever seen...This needs to be rented first before it gets bought by anyone, just saying....

I loved it, not nearly as scary as one but it was fairly creepy. I cannot wait to see it again.

However, I won't hold my breath for that release date but it would make sense for the last minute Christmas shoppers.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, wasn't scary by any means, but it had its moments of cheap thrills and although the suspense wasn't as well built as the first one did, there was consistent suspense throughout the whole movie and it did tie up loose ends from the first movie and explained a lot of the mythology behind everything. I liked it and will probably buy it first day.

this surprised me since I wasn't all that impressed with the first film. I thought the story was more interesting.

don't understand the hate for this movie. I liked it better than the first one. I think this franchise has created a decent mythology for itself that's better than most of the horror franchises in the last 10 years. It's rare that a horror sequel makes the original seem like a better film, but I think this movie succeeded in that aspect. It also had the right amount of humor.

I'll say this, the sequel made me interested enough that I bought the original. This is a day one buy for me.

Saw this movie tonight. Really enjoyed it. Not as scary as the first but I liked how the two movies peiced together and it wasn't just a pale imitation of the first like so many suspense/chiller/horror movies are these days

I heard that this could be released on December 23 so as to sell right before Christmas. Same with Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.

Insidious is one of my favorite horror movies, but Insidious 2 was shit imo. The only time I was creeped out was at the beginning when young josh points to the door and it opens. The rest of the film I was just waiting for it to be over so I could do something useful with my time. Also didn't like it explaining the black bride. A little mystery goes a long way. Instead we get all the mystery stripped and are left with some Momma Bates/Norman Bates BS. Would have preferred if the black bride had simply remained a malevolent spirit. And WTF was up with the spirit time travel? I expect a lot more from Wan. Its like he was literally throwing shit at the wall to see what would stick and as the end result demonstrates not a damn thing stuck. I'm gonna try to forget this thing exists and maintain the mystery and creepiness of the original.

This is a rent first movie, and a dollar rental at that.

This one looks like a typical cash grab sequel :/ I'll eventually watch it, but I'm not in a rush.

Btw, release date is Dec. 31.
