Default The "Full" Harry?

Yet another Harry Potter thread. When the ABC "Family" channel runs the HP films, all of them, they contain scenes that were not in the Theaters or the DVD,s Example(s): When the Dursleys are trying to keep young Harry from getting the HW lettr, Aunt Petunia finds letters in eggs, there is much more of the family hiding from owls etc, Ron and Harry fly the Ford Anglia by Big Ben, Sir Cudugen (spelling)? is featured in the POA, etc. These "extra" scenes are not on the double DVD's or any theatrical release, there seems to be a lot of them. Does anyone know if there will ever be a "complete" HP DVD(s) released at any time? if so this is a good reason to wait for the final film.

I cant recall ever seeing a 'TV Cut' on DVD of any film. I've seen these extra things on TV, and always just assumed they were in the deleted scenes on the DVDs (which I dont look at too much). I know TV gets them, because if they have an hour and a hlaf movie, and they need to fill a 2 hour (plus commercials) time slot, they will need a couple extra unimportant minutes to throw in, and I figured this is what the studio gave them.

So maybe they are just filler and not important enough to make a 'deleted scenes' track?

Speaking of TV cuts, I would love to get the Goonies they air on the disney channel every now and then.

They're just the deleted scenes.

They're included on the blu-ray versions as Deleted Scenes in the Special fetures menu, not mixed in with the movie.

If warner had done some work with seamless branching and if they had encoded the deleted scenes in 1080p they could have given two versions of Harry Potter on each disc, much like the spiderman 2 & 2.1 blu-ray - it's not essential but it could have been a cool feature.

Yeah it's too bad really. Order of the Phoenix could definitely have used some more fleshing out in the runtime respect IMO.

The extra scenes were, I thought, pretty cool, especially the Ford, Big Ben thing. The extra scenes in the first one are not on the double DVD, I have it. I didn't see them on the double POA either. I suppose we will hae to wait, it's a shame it can't be done by magic.

Once again, they hacked this one to pieces in the script stage. Director Yates was quoted as saying that it was his goal to turn the longest book into the shortest movie. And yet he's the first director they are having back since Chris Columbus. Much as I enjoyed Cuaron's visual take on the third film, I really wish Columbus with his "lets put everything in there" take could have played out for all 7 movies.

The amount of cutting done to book 5 was really tragic.

I'd love to see Harry Potter done up as an HBO series in 20 years. Exactly enough episodes per season to handle each book.
