Default The Night Flier

This is my all time favoritist Steven King flick just slightly above pet cemetary. IMO it showcases some of Miguel Ferrer best work and a great supporting role by Julie Entwisle. At this point she probably will not be pursuing much more in acting, but as a fan of cinema I believe she would have done well and would like to have seen her pursue more roles that should have been in my collection.

I enjoy the story and the way it is told because I feel it focuses more on the relationships between the characters during these horrific events, which is an affront to traditional Hollywood which loves to focus on the central premise above and beyond. Clearly Dwight Renfield, or someone in a black cessna skymaster murering in the night is what everyone is concerned about. But I find myself genuinely admiring the female reporters struggle to break into an industry not looking to play nice at all to the new person. Richard Dees is portrayed so well I want to reach through the screen and just punch the smug bastard. he gives me similar creeps as the cooper from NOTLD 1991, but with much more respect for his attitude. And the sinister editor's methods of playing the two against each other for his bottom line story of the year is masterful, although a bit too enthusiastically so IMO. I wonder to this day if he intended on ditching Dees had he survived or in fact intended to see him die in some kind of twisted foresight for a sellout headline.

If this movies mas made today in 2014, I firmly believe there would be more focus on dwights past, he would end up being come cheesy homo emo prick with glitter and eye shadow. And the entire editorial investigation would consist of two dittzy post grads or perhaps a small team with no depth whatsoever that become a grissly meal for dwight to mull over while contempating his existence in the world because the idiots are constantly getting into each others pants and not actually making any bit of journalistic effort and just getting lucky.

If ever were to be remade, Eli Roth could definetly pull off what it deserves to become . But in the meantimes, I would more than happily accept a blu-ray port

So New Line, or HBO whoever has the rights to it, kindly consider my request. I bet there are many Steven king fans here as well that would appreciate it.
