Come on, you need to at least watch it for yourself before you write it off. I would've never discovered half of my favorites films if I went by what others said, friends, critics, everyone really.

Can you say "insta purchase". Hope the artwork is good. You know, there's a special place in my heart for HMV steelbooks. Idk why, but I gravitate toward them a lot.. they make some awesome steels.

Necessary words to live by, Bruisermoore.

I can assume a movie will suck all I want (and I often do), but I'll never avoid a film solely based on other people's opinions. If I'm interested (or even a little curious) for any reason, I'll see a film for myself and make my own assessment. If I'm not sure a movie is even worth seeking out, then I'll ask around for a general consensus.

Agree Gents!
I've found that being my own critic, has worked quite well for the better part of three decades....but that's just me!

Yeah, the only films I've ever really NOT taken my own advice on were Transformers 2,3, & 4.

I don't think I was taking a big risk on those ones though.

I agree with comments made. Two of my fav films are Waterworld and Lady in the Water. I would have hated missing these if I had obeyed the critics and never saw them.

Exactly. One of, if not my (and my wife's) favorite comedies is Freddy Got Fingered, and we all know what the critics thought of that one.

[Show spoiler]

!
I was trying to remember where I had seen something similar looking to the steel cover and couldn't place my finger on it
that's EXACTLY what I had in mind as soon as I saw you posted it I knew thats what it was
just on the floating head part of it.... I wouldn't have even noticed the blade mirroring too! LOL

And the other way around, 2 movies I saw solely based on reviews (Blair Witch Project and Frozen (not the Disney one)) is 2 of my biggest disappointments ever when it comes to movies.

But it can also work out great with recommendations... Before I watched the first Boondock Saints I think I had 5-6 friends and colleagues recommending it to me ("You MUST see this one, it is right up your alley") and even years later I have heard "If you haven't seen this one you really should, I think you'll enjoy it" from other friends.

Back to the SteelBook... I assume that you will create a GB for this one, Paul? If so I'm in

Yeah I know there's a lot of hate for 'Lady', and M. Night as well as The Village (which I also love) but I remember first seeing 'Lady' and 'The Village' in the theatre with my best friend. Still to this day we have fond memories of those M. Night movies and reel off lines from time to time. I love the fairytale story of 'Lady'. Everyone enjoys different things and for me I adore 'Lady' start to finish.
