Default I have risen from the dead

It has been a long time since I have frequented these boards. Things have changed.

I thought since it's Christmas, that I'd post here.

Some losers broke into our house on Christmas eve and stole a bunch of stuff. Almost all my movies, videos games, and about $300 in wrapped presents. They even stole my doggies toy for Christmas. They stole everything in my detolf ikea case including all steelbooks and fright night too. I had a few Blu Rays in the bedroom that they missed, but I lost over 650 of my movies in one night. My wife feels violated number one, and two- feels that we will never recover from this.

The only good thing is that my wife's disney movies were locked away in her hope chest. I told her that this was the sign that everything will be ok, but she kinda just shrugged it off and kept cleaning up the mess they made.

We called the Sherrif and filed a report. I will be checking pawn shops over the next few weeks for my stuff too.

My advice: all windows and doors locked, valuable movies and games locked away unless they are being played, and insure your valuables.

I feel like a fool, but at least everyone is physically ok. Thanks for reading friends. Happy holidays and have a good new year.

ugh, i hope you had them all insured. good thing no one got hurt and was just physical items.

this is one of the reasons i love living in an apartment. only one door and is a modern style metal door with two different types of locks w no windows on the door. so unless you wake up the whole building to try to get into that door or are spiderman there is no way o get inside without a key.

Thanks. And of course everyone is doing things with their family, none of the neighbors noticed anything; there was already tons of visitors cars up and down the street and hard to tell who's who when you see people just walking up to and around houses I guess. Whoever did this is going to have it come back to them two fold.

To say that sucks, would be a total understatement. I feel bad for you and your wife for such a big loss of stuff.
I hope 2015 is much better for you and your wife videohead.

That's rough, man. When my sister was in high school, our house got broken into and they stole her laptop and portable DVD player. She was heartbroken because she had won both in school because of her FCAT scores.

Thieves disgust me - work is not hard! Money is very obtainable..especially in the US.

Very sorry to hear about your situation. That sounds awful.

I would try looking on the positive side on what they didn't get, everyone hopefully came out unscathed..

I hope you guys luck in finding the stolen BDs and other items.

I'm sorry about your break-in. One way or another the scumbag(s) will get theirs. I hope things start looking up for you guys soon.

Wow, sorry to hear that. They must of spent some time in the house since moving 650 movies (weight and volume) is no trivial task.

Thieves are nothing more than a leech on society. Hopefully they get what's coming to them very soon.

At least you and your wife are safe which, in the long run, is all that really matters.

To the OP, sorry to hear about that. I can relate, since I've been broken into before - at the time, the P.O.S.'s stole my computer, CD player, CD's, and other items - however, it was in the early 200X's, and I didn't have a DVD Player yet (no VHS tapes either, since I got rid of all of them along with my VHS player in '96, when it broke).

In any case, thieves like this deserve something horrible to happen to them...

This is terrible, and during the Christmas season is even worst. You are a good man, videohead.

Just wanted to make a special comment on this, I don't know if you've noticed since you've been gone for awhile but TT is releasing a 30th Anniversary Special Edition of Fright Night next month. Preorders begin on 30 Dec so if you want to replace that item you have another chance at getting this film without spending an absurd amount of money for an OOP item.
