Default NBC's "Chicago Med" (Season 1)

Has the airdate for the Chicago Med series premiere (technically the second pilot, following the backdoor pilot on Chicago Fire last season?) been pushed back again? Think it had been pushed back once before (to November 10th). EpGuides.com now have an airdate for the first episode of Chicago Med of Tuesday 17th November.

Possibly, scheduling here is based around the NFL Football season that and NBC usually cant get its head out of its ass when it comes to programming. I am showing the premier of Med as Nov 17th so... yep

EpGuides.com has got episode titles up for the first four episodes of Chicago Med, and TV Maze has got episode synopses up for the first two episodes. The first episode's title, like Chicago P.D.'s first episode, has a title other than "Pilot".

No sign yet of a UK channel picking the show up, but I hope a channel which broadcasts in HD picks the show up.

It's only the first episode, and the test is going to be with the second episode next Tuesday, but the ratings (total number of viewers and 18-49 demos) may have been decent, considering the timeslot it's in.

I'm hoping Universal Channel or Watch acquires the show, because they both air in high definition and they air some of their shows a few days or weeks after the US (Law & Order: SVU and Grimm respectively).

Well, it benefited from having The Voice as a lead-in, too.

By the by, crossover characters in the pilot are Jay Halstead from P.D. and Sylvie Brett & Christopher Herrmann from Fire.

Also, it's odd, but every episode announced so far seems to have been retitled. The pilot was originally announced as "The Green Branch", but changed to "Derailed". Next week's episode #2 was originally announced as "Just Two Blocks", but changed to "iNO". Episode #3 (Dec 1) was originally announced as "Fallback Plan", but changed to just "Fallback". Episode #4 (Dec 8) was originally announced as "An Honest Mistake", but changed to "Mistaken".

The ratings for Chicago Med appear to be doing well. Next Tuesday night's new episode "Mistaken" (episode 4) is the last new episode until Tuesday 5th January.

By the by, Sylvie Brett and Kelly Severide were the crossover characters in this week's episode. And hidden in the closing credits was another: Alex Weisman, who played the paramedic Chout in several episodes of Fire, beginning with episode 2x08: "Rhymes with Shout". Chout was also in the premiere episode of Med.

Glad you're filling in some of the blanks regarding crossover characters. I've noticed a couple of paramedic characters on Chicago Fire who have been recurring characters, and I think I've seen the character Chout on that show. After checking the IMDb filmography page for the actor who plays Chout, the character appeared in the Season 1 Chicago P.D. episode "A Material Witness".

I may not like the Wolf shows aside from Med(maybe) and P.D. but I do appreciate the scope of what he's done, 4 shows that are at least loosely tied together all running at the same time.

Yeah, in fact, the recent arrival of the S3 BD of Fire has gotten me spending time I don't really have to go back through the earlier episodes of Fire and P.D. looking for the non-obvious crossover appearances. The trouble is, without keeping track of all the guest cast listed in the closing credits, there might be a few that slip between the cracks. For instance, there's one of the random members of Squad 3 on Fire named Tony Ferraris (played by...Anthony Ferraris) who's showed up in at least two P.D. episodes.

Think it was on Wednesday when they announced it, Universal Channel announced on their Facebook page that they've acquired Chicago Med.

Good News!!

Quote:
After a promising start, the latest installment in Dick Wolf’s Chicago franchise, Chicago Med, has received a five-episode back order from NBC, bringing its freshman season to 18 episodes. (The size of the pickup, four episodes short of the standard 22 episodes, can be explained by the fact the Chicago Med launched on November 17, nearly two months into the season.)

Very good news about the five extra episodes for Chicago Med's first season (hopefully it gets renewed for a second season if the steady ratings continue). I'm guessing it's because it's first season started on NBC in January, but Chicago P.D. ended up with 15 episodes for it's first season.

Going to hazard a guess at Chicago Med starting in the UK (on Universal Channel) in February or March, as by then enough episodes should have premiered in the US so we won't catch up. And as Universal Channel broadcast in high definition, that should increase the chances of a UK Blu-ray release. But that also depends on how well the show does in the UK and US.

Was pleasantly surprised to see Jay and Lindsay in the last episode, kinda odd Jay didn't hit up his brother though. Glad this got another 5 episodes, holding out hope for at least a second season.

Fire and P.D. have already been renewed for another year:

http://thefutoncritic.com/news/2015/...20151109nbc05/

The renewal was made before Med even debuted.

While I'm here, the crossover characters this episode were:

Jay Halstead & Erin Lindsay from P.D.
Sylvie Brett, Chili, and Chout from Fire

"An Honest Mistake" was the title for episode 5, the first episode after the fall finale, which is now the middle part of the Chicago Trilogy crossover airing over Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th January. Then "An Honest Mistake" was going to be the title of episode 6. Now episode 6 has the title "Bound".

I think they aired the episodes in the wrong order, Chicago Med then Chicago Fire, They usually do this as they did this time but it did not fit the story.

It was kind of weird, it started out fine with Chicago Med, but then when you watch Chicago Fire you realize you should have watched Chicago Fire first then Chicago Med. It was like 50/50 you felt like your watching them in the right order, but at the same time you don't

I think if they want to keep doing these arc stories, this should do them as speicials that are 2 Hours and 6 Mins long instead of 3 seperate episodes, should have all 3 shows meshed togeather.

Anyone else see these new episodes and feel the same way?

I don't watch Fire so it doesn't bother me, Med seemed like it's going to lead perfectly into tonight's PD.
