Default Panasonic UB-450 question

Hi all.

I just set up my home cinema last night. Panasonic UB-450 player with Denon receiver and Sony laser projector. Super cool.

Once small niggle is that whenever I play a movie a little HDMI 1 icon appears in the left hand side of the screen over the image for the first few seconds of the movie.

It's a small niggle, but I would like it gone. Does anyone here know how to switch that icon off?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think it's something you can change in the player's settings, I'd assume the projector or AVR is reacting to a change in resolution or frame rate. If they're outputting 60HZ as standard, the change to 24HZ might cause the HDMI logo to pop-up. That's assuming the icon isn't generated by the player itself?

I very much doubt its the player generating that message. Check your projector manual

Hello to you both.

You are right. It is the projector generating the message. I had the projector on without the player or receiver and the message was there.

No idea how to shut it down. Will ask Sony!

Not sure what model you have, but try Settings>Setup menu>Status, it will disable some of the onscreen info.

Hello ! That HDMI 1 icon is likely a notification from your projector or receiver. Check the settings on both, especially look for 'input notifications' or 'display settings'. You might find an option to turn off these on-screen notifications. Hope this helps and enjoy your home cinema!
