Default Custom Made Steelbooks?

So I have a question:

Is it possible to buy a custom made exclusive steelbook from Scanavo?

Or do they only sell in large quantities / minimum to companies?

I believe that the answer is "No". I'm sure I've read this in another thread where someone tried buying cases from Scanavo, but they replied saying that they do not sell directly to individuals. I think their minimum print run is 4,000 as well, but I could be wrong!

So what if I let them make a custom design steelbook and order a quantity of 4,000. Would they sell it to me in that case?
(Not that I will, even if they do. That will probably cost tens of thousands of Euros ).

If you were to order 4,000 units, and had a business license, they would most definitely do it. Though you would still need the rights/permission to whatever copyrighted material you were going to have printed up. Otherwise the company doing the printing would be breaking international copyright/trademark laws. E.g., you would need permission from Sony, Universal, Warner, etc to use their copyrighted art, images, logos, etc. Which would likely cost you more than the 4,000 cases would cost to have made in the first place.

It would be even cooler if we coud get 4000 members to pitch in and make a custom Blu-ray.com steelbook.

That was what I was thinking about to be honest

I mean, they sell exclusive steelbooks for only 11.20 (recent 20th Century Fox Exclusive).
And they make a nice profit out of that.

So if 4000 members pay 11.20, I am sure we would be able to get a blu-ray.com exclusive steelbook (each paying member 1 steelbook).

I don't know about the steelbook production costs.
I don't know about copyright/trademark laws either.

But how much could it really cost?

I am sure Amazon makes a profit selling new exclusive steelbooks for 11.20 each. But how much profit?

Amazon will probably receive large discounts... they buy a lot.

A bluray.com exclusive would be very cool but keeping 4000 people happy with the final single release would be impossible

We should start a petition or something, this would be very cool. Although I doubt all of them would be in mint condition. Perhaps in a future title Blu-ray.com could partner up with a studio. It would be great for the website, community, and collectors.

We could order 500 extra for replacements.
If someone receives a broken one, he could get one of the replacements for free :P

There are more than 218,000 registered members so I am sure there will be 4,000 interested members .

Default Badge of honor

This would be so sick! Sort of a Blu-ray.com "badge of honor." Even if it was just a steelcase with a Blu-ray.com logo or something, in cool embossed lettering: just a badge for being members of this great community.

I would certainly pay for this and put some money in. Where do I sign?

True but maybe have the veteran members create the artwork and have a voting process by members for the final artwork.

Yeah, that would be a good solution.

yes there would be more than enough but keeping 4000 people happy would be impossible was my main point, imagine the arguments and complaints. I see enough here day to day as it is. 4000 members would never agree on one title so it would be a majority vote which would never work imo THEN the artwork choice stage good god it would be anarchy lol

Well, I am sure there are people who will put in more money and the remaining stock could be sold via blu-ray.com or via eBay. I would take that risk as long as there are others who join me .
