I'm getting really annoyed at having to choose between 3D and 4K...

no brainer for me, thought Beyond's 3d was excellent in some scenes and rather non existent in others. Worse than Into Darkness.

I agree with a 4 month turn-around, that is awesome.

I saw this the other night and thought it was okay but doesn't have anything on the first 2. The thing that annoyed me is there's no beauty shot of the Enterprise like when we first glimpse the Big E with Kirk and Bones and when she rises out of the water.

Just got an email response from Universal Sony and they have confirmed there will be JB exclusive version with a bonus disc with more extras, the same as the US' Target exclusive. The only difference seems to be it won't have the three trailers.

I'm going to go with the US collector's release. Because it has the 3D and 4K version in one package. I'll probably sell off the enterprise model if anyone is interested. :P

I've done the same. It's well priced and comes with everything in one pack, but I will be keeping the model.

JB has an exclusive with figures of the ships, though it does not seem to have 3D as the German one does

What really annoys me with these releases is the difference in features between releases. I've opted for the U.S. BD/4K/3D release with the single U.S.S. Franklin Model. Even this version doesn't include all the supplemental features as Paramount have decided to dole out different extras to different releases. Annoying.

Now I see that they same trick is being done here. JB now have a 2 disc 2D edition with a bonus disc of extras, but if you want to opt for the 3D edition that second disc is MIA and its the same with the 4K release here as well. Morons! So expect a double dip again on this like the (admittedly good) Compendium release from a few years ago.

What's infuriated me is with the recent 4K/Blu-ray Combo release of Into Darkness, we once again missed out on the bonus disc full of extras all because Universal Sony made a conscious decision not to re-release a disc already available with another edition.

THAT NEVER GOT RELEASED HERE!!

I just received an email from JB Hi-Fi saying they shipped my order for Star Trek Beyond.

That's like a week before the release date. Do they normally ship pre-orders so early ?

I was thinking it could be because I'm in the UK so it will take a week (minimum) to arrive here.

Its release date is November 2nd which is next Wednesday but it most likely will be in store Monday. Shipping online pre-orders the Friday before is common and they wouldn't arrive till Monday at earliest anyway.

I've got the Amazon limited edition 4K/3D/2D set on order, which was au$55 with express shipping from Amazon.ca. Though if this is available here now, I might cancel it and pick it up locally instead.
