Default Does using an old pre 3D HDMI cable matter when using a 3D player?

I just got a new Oppo 103 and it comes with a new filtered 3D/4K-compatible HDMI cable, but I still have an old pre-3D filtered HDMI cable running down from my TV threaded thru the cabinet that I just hooked into the new 103. But what I noticed is that I'm getting an extraordinary amount of digital noise that suddenly pops up in my disc play backs. It's a type of digital noise that I've never seen before. I'm just wondering if I swap out the old wire with the new if it would clear that up? The old existing wire came with either my Oppo 83, or my even older Oppo DV-981HD DVD player, and if that was the case, the wire is from 2007. Oh, I don't have a 3D TV set yet, and won't any time soon. Waiting for 4K TVs to drop before I upgrade again. Just bought my current plasma set his past Spring anyway, so...

The old cable is probably standard speed.

The new one is high speed.

"Should it make a difference in your set up?"

No. But it might.

I would try the new HDMI cable that was included with the new 103. Maybe the old HDMI cable that you're currently using is insufficient, and non-compatible with the new player.
