Warner Bros The Meg 3D Blu-ray (2018)[Region Free]

Trailer tonight.

I would check it out.

Quote:
In the film, “A deep-sea submersible—part of an international undersea observation program—has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific…with its crew trapped inside. With time running out, expert deep-sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao), against the wishes of his daughter Suyin (Li Bingbing), to save the crew—and the ocean itself—from this unstoppable threat: a pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon. What no one could have imagined is that, years before, Taylor had encountered this same terrifying creature. Now, teamed with Suyin, he must confront his fears and risk his own life to save everyone trapped below…bringing him face to face once more with the greatest and largest predator of all time.”
Update:
All 3D Blu-ray releases of this film worldwide are REGION FREE. There are three US releases:

Best Buy Exclusive (3D + 2D + DVD + Digital + Slipcover)

Standard Release (3D + 2D + Digital; No slipcover)

Amazon Exclusive (3D + Digital; No slipcover)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Meg

I have been looking forward to this for some time.I read the book some time back. I think I came across it after finding the sequel to it, The Trench. At least if this does well enough, there is enough material to look at for sequels.

Meg2 ~The Trench

Meg3~ Primal Waters

Meg4~ Hells Aquarium

Meg5~ Nightstalkers

Meg6~ Generations...not out yet but due in July.

That's a giant Jaws, hopefully good for strong 3D underwater. Looks interesting. Cool to see it'll be in 3D.

Looks awesome, right up my street. Took them long enough to get the trailer out though! Glad this is in 3D.

It's Warner, so hopefully that means a 3-D Blu-ray in North America, as well. They're pretty much the only studio that still consistently releases in 3-D here.

Watched the trailer without sound at work. Moderately impressed. Ridiculous premise (it goes without saying), but looks competently handled, better than expected. Watched it with sound at home. Yuck! Overused, overfamiliar song, a boring choice for obvious reasons, tonally all wrong for the imagery. They probably think they're being clever.

At least they didn't cast the Rock. I do like the poster though. Might see.

Hopefully Jaws-3d-strong, but it won't be. Anyway, I'll bite.

That’s AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I can’t believe I haven’t heard about this! If the US doesn’t get a 3D release I’m going to March down to the White House and threaten to move to 3D friendly country.

Is it ? Even when Avatar 2 comes out. I don’t Think so they see 3D is way more popular than 4K overseas because there is no propaganda there to switch to 4K. 4K is so damn overrated. 3D is viewing a movie in whole other way. 4K is just a bit sharper image.

Which the human eye can't even resolve on the size of TV and viewing distance most owners use it at. I've a 4k 3d projector so it is of value there.

I think more the real attraction is the larger color space and hdr. The resolution less so.

I don't agree with the overseas argument though. Where are the 3d TV's?

I just meant for WB to release 3D in the States. I don’t think 3D as a whole is going anywhere overseas.

And you know Avatar 2 is never coming out.
