Default Fox tv on dvd from olive films

Olive Films announced these TV shows coming to DVD in November 2014...

NAPOLEON DYNAMITE: THE COMPLETE ANIMATED SERIES (DVD)

STARS:
Jon Heder (Blades of Glory, The Benchwarmers)
Efran Ramirez (Crank, HBO’s “Eastbound & Down”)
Jon Gries (Men in Black, Taken, Taken 2 & 3)
Diedrich Bader (Office Space, Balls of Fury, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back)

FIRST TIME EVER ON DVD!

STREET: 11/4/2014

YEAR: 2012
TOTAL RUNNING TIME: 134 mins
ASPECT RATIO: 1.78:1 Aspect Ratio; Color

SYNOPSIS:
Based on the runaway hit film, “Napoleon Dynamite” is an animated series just as quirky as the film that inspired it, and featuring the voices of the film’s original cast: Jon Heder, Efren Ramirez, Jon Gries, Diedrich Bader, Aaron Ruell, Tina Majorino, and Sandy Martin. Originally broadcast as six half-hour episodes, the series follows the continuing misadventures of an awkward Idaho teen (Heder) and the social misfits who surround him in the small town of Preston, Idaho. Lord of dance, master of martial arts, and expert on the mythical beast known as the “liger,” Napoleon attempts to share the wisdom he has attained with his school pal Pedro (Ramirez), computer-nerd brother Kip (Ruell), Uncle Rico (Gries), and the painfully shy Deb (Majorino) -- usually with hilarious results. Cult TV at its most off-beat, “Napoleon Dynamite” is highlighted by special appearances by Amy Poehler, Sam Rockwell, Jennifer Coolidge, Tom Kenny, Phil LaMarr and others!

SRP: $29.95

TOUCH: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (DVD)

STREET: 11/4/2014

YEAR: 2013
TOTAL RUNNING TIME: 574 mins
ASPECT RATIO: 1.78:1 Aspect Ratio; Color
AUDIO: 5.1 DD

SYNOPSIS:
After the death of his wife in the World Trade Center attack of September 11, Martin Bohm (Kiefer Sutherland) embarks on a fast-paced quest to resolve the mysterious patterns of numbers -- known as the “God Sequence” -- repeated by his autistic son Jake (David Mazouz). In the second and final season (which The New York Times called, “considerably darker and more complex" than the first), Martin’s pursuit of the truth leads him to the West Coast. There, the deepening mystery explodes into a multi-faceted conspiracy involving a cult known as the Righteous 36, the CEO of a sinister corporation (Frances Fisher), one of the company’s former officers (Lukas Haas), a deranged ex-priest (Saïd Taghmaoui), and the mother (Maria Bello) of a child (Saxon Sharbino) who may prove instrumental in deciphering the code. Created by Tim Kring (“Heroes”), “Touch” combines the fast-paced thrills of “24” with a provocative mix of religious and political intrigue.

SRP: $39.95

Seth Green (Austin Powers, Robot Chicken) and Giovanni Ribisi (Ted, Saving Private Ryan) star as Eli and Warner, childhood friends who have become successful videogame developers. But their upwardly mobile lifestyle is thwarted by their dads -- Peter Riegert (Animal House) and Martin Mull (Roseanne) -- whose bad behavior causes frequent complications with the friends’ assistant (Brenda Song, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody) and housekeeper (Tonita Castro). In spite of the problems caused by their old men, Eli and Warner discover that there are still a few lessons yet to be learned from their ne’er-do-well dads.

Though it only ran for two seasons, the series -- with its dark sense of humor and the unconventional games it plays with the viewer -- has become a certified cult hit. Entertainment Weekly praised “Better Off Ted” as “certainly the most original sitcom to come along in a while,” with season two acclaimed as “hilarious and even funnier this year than last” (New York Post).

Unfortunately that show is owned by WB, not Fox.

I wish Fox had made this deal before they released all those manufactured-on-demand DVDs recently. I'm really curious to know what will happen with American Dad. Vol. 9 has already been released as manufactured-on-demand, but the show is still ongoing... I wonder what will happen with future sets.

Regardless this is fantastic news about Better Off Ted: Season 2 that was my favorite show that was missing a physical release.

Yes, seasons 3 & 4 of the Cleveland Show are MOD. As well as the following:

Bob's Burgers Seasons 2 & 3
Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23: The Complete Series
The Killing Seasons 2 & 3 (though these are getting regular Blu-ray releases in the UK)
Louie Season 3
Raising Hope Seasons 2 & 3
Wilfred Season 3

That sucks, I don't collect any of those other shows but I do collect American Dad and Cleveland. I also had King of the Hill but sold them long ago, I might pick the old seasons up and then get these 2 seasons in hope that Olive releases the remaining 5 seasons or better yet a complete series box set. Also guess I will pick up the crappy MOD's of Cleveland 3+4 and American Dad 9 to continue them

I believe we will eventually see pressed releases of the MOD-only titles. Shout did pressed versions of the Nickelodeon MOD titles sold through Amazon and perhaps all of those listed titles have decent enough followings that it would make sense to allow more than just Amazon to carry them (for example, Louie, Bob's Burgers and Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23 have developed cult followings while Wilfred was quite popular during its run).

Fox is sitting on potential money and Olive can make that money by licensing these titles (especially Bob's Burgers, as seen by its immense popularity on Tumblr).
