Pony Canyon will release Denis Villeneuve's Prisoners (2013) on Blu-ray in Japan on October 2nd, 2014.

This release is actually a two-disc set. The film is presented alone on the BD-50, while 66 minutes of extras are presented on an included bonus DVD-5 disc.

Although it was not mentioned anywhere in the release materials from Pony Canyon (that I could see), this disc has Panasonic Master Grade Video Coding (MGVC) technology. Again, BDInfo seems confused by the extra data, and records an incorrect disc size. According to my PC, the actual disc size is 47,512,485,888 bytes (47.51 GB), however...

...both my PC and BDInfo claim the feature file is "only" 37,655,568,384 bytes (37.66 GB). Since there is nothing on the disc besides logos/warnings/menus and the feature file, a significant chunk of data appears to be unaccounted for, so take this scan with a large grain of salt.

Cool with mgvc encoding. If you own US or DE disc would you say this looks better? And what is the JP disc aspect ratio?

The Japanese release is OAR 1.85:1 and not 1.78:1.
