Default Blu Ray player problems

I have a Samsung BD-P3600 blu ray player.

It seems to be on the fritz. At first, I thought the problem was with few discs, but as more and more discs experienced the same problem, I have come to the conclusion that the problem is the blu ray player itself.

Whenever I put a disc into the machine, it loads the desc's menu without any of the music or background pics or movie that should be in the background. When I click on the icon to play the movie, the screen goes black for a few moments then returns back to the disc menu. It started to happen when I started play the Sopranos season 6 part II discs. I then tested the player with other discs that were not part of the Sopranos set. The same thing happened. Anybody got any idea what is going on here? Any suggestions on what to do? I'd hate to have to just throw it out and buy and whole other player. Any help would be appreciated.
