Fire Ants 3D: The Invincible Army (2012) Blu-ray 3D [Region Locked / Free]

Much in the vein of Cane Toads this doco about Fire ants is awash with 3d goodness. It is full frame and I'm guessing also native shot as the 3d is strong and natural.
The actual doco itself is very informative and entertaining in its own wAy as it documents the conquering of the United States by this menace. I think it was imported from Germany though and I'm not sure if it's region free.😀

According to Bluray-disc.de it's region B. There's also a British version, not sure about that one.

The German edition plays on Regions A & B - I wrote up my thoughts on it a year and a half ago or so. I really enjoyed it!

Fire Ants 3D - The Invincible Army Blu-ray (Germany)
plays on both Regions A & B so it is probably Region Free. This has an English audio track and it is also available in the UK. Much more interesting documentary than I anticipated. It mines territory similar to Cane Toads (One of my favorite 3D documentaries), but this is not quite the exhaustive, big budgeted doc that one is. It is very professionally done - 3D is excellent and everything is crisp and clear.

It looks to me like Microplanet 3D is included in its entirety on The Best of 3D: Volumes 4-6 Blu-ray (along with a bunch of other stuff) and at least half of Alligator Kingdom 3D is on The Best of 3D: Volumes 1-3 Blu-ray - so those may be much better values for the money.

Sounds interesting. Fire Ants, if attacked by, are lethal in many situations. And I thought slipping on wet grass as a kid and falling onto a tiny black ant colony was painful as 40 ants bit my arms. I can imagine these.

Reminds me of the scene from Crystal Skull Indiana Jones, but I bet this would be much more realistic.
