Default Koutetsujou no Kabaneri (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress)

Quote:
As the world is in the middle of an industrial revolution, a monster appears that cannot be defeated unless its heart, which is protected by a layer of iron, is pierced. By infecting humans with its bite, the monster can create aggressive and undead creatures known as Kabane. On the island Hinomoto, located in the far east, people have built stations to shelter themselves from these creatures. People access the station, as well as transport wares between them, with the help of a locomotive running on steam, called Hayajiro. Ikoma, a boy who lives in the Aragane station and helps to build Hayajiro, creates his own weapon called Tsuranukizutsu in order to defeat the creatures. One day, as he waits for an opportunity to use his weapon, he meets a girl named Mumei, who is excused from the mandatory Kabane inspection. During the night, Ikoma meets Mumei again as he sees Hayajiro going out of control. The staff on the locomotive has turned into the creatures. The station, now under attack by Kabane, is the opportunity Ikoma has been looking for.

This show is badass!!! Already one of my favorites of the season. It's from the same studio behind Attack on Titan.

It's streaming on Amazon Prime. I checked out the first episode last week and this is hype af. I'm loving it. The animation is sick and the music is epic from the score to the OP & EDs. Can't wait to check out episode 2. It was supposed to be released this week but is delayed until next week because of the earthquakes.

Really enjoying this to, definitely has the Attack on Titan feel to it. So if you love that you should love this. Love the steam theme, they need more steampunk anime!

haha AMZ is so desperate to get anime viewers.

It is a shame really as it is a good anime. But people aren't going to want to sub for just one show. I mean at least with Netflix, CR, and even Funi they have more then just one decent show.

AMZ IW is pretty lacking on the anime front. Which I like as it is once less then one would have to sub to.

Its just an added extra for me. I mainly have Prime for postage purposes. Im not complaining, this is the first anime ive watched weekly since Dragonball Z came out lol. I've always just bought em upon release.

I suppose a big release like this allows Amazon to test the waters with how popular anime is for them.

I mean for those that don't have Prime it is going to suck. I mean are they going to want to go big for the $99 year or have to pay out more for say just IW? I mean yes this is a bonus for us that have Prime no doubt. And AMZ for awhile have been trying to come up with an anime strategy. Since the deal with CR didn't go through thank God. Getting exclusives for them is the next logical choice. Which again isn't a bad thing just sucks as then you have more subscriptions to deal with. Personally this is a show that should have been on CR. But oh well, just happy to be able to watch it and enjoy it with you guys.

So far I'm liking it a lot.

Im guessing there will be 12/13 episodes in the first part of season 1, those are normally the magic numbers for anime. Hopefully not too long a wait for part 2! I assume that will be the format anyway

It's a shame that i suspect this series will set back Attack on Titan season 2 even further though, boooo

Anime streaming service Crunchyroll announced a plan during its Anime Expo panel to release a number of its titles on Blu-ray and DVD with English dubs.

The company also revealed it has acquired merchandising rights for Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress—which will also be released on Blu-ray and DVD with dubs. IGN recently named Kabaneri one of best anime titles from the spring 2016 season.

Yep can't believe CR is doing so many titles. I hope they are priced fairly like Sentai. I know they will be a little more because they are dubbed but that is alright I guess.
