I had a look at the BD and it's not a dated master, even less an upscale. It looks like a recent unfiltered 2K restoration. However, it has the common issue with japanese catalog movies : the black levels are off.
My copy has an issue with the 40 min discussion about the movie : when you select to launch the extra, it instead start the movie. I've checked through BD Info, and the extra is on the disc, so it looks like a bad authoring. This release is a dual format one, so you can still look at the extra through the DVD, but only in SD obviously. I'll check but it looks like it's Region B locked. Not sure also about the french subs being forced or not. |
