[Show spoiler]It's hard to buy digital copies at full price ($13, $15, $18, $20). It blows when you break down and buy something, and then it goes on sale for a lower price at some point. If they're expensive they'd better be rare (not on Blu in the US, for starters) and/or have a lot of good iTunes extras.
I have a bunch on my wish list that never budge in price. It's very rare that I'll break down and buy one. Sometimes I'll buy one on Amazon because they're either, A) Having a sale -or- B) Their price is just lower at full price. I don't like doing that because I'd prefer to own it in iTunes, but I have done it. Amazon had Dan In Real Life for $13 last October. It's a Touchstone title, so on iTunes it's ALWAYS $18. I had $10 in no-rush shipping credits on Amazon, so I bought it there at the $13 price point ($3 out of pocket).
I've gotten much more patient at waiting over the past year or so, both with Blu-rays and with iTunes. I'll wait for a price drop or I just won't buy it. I have Dish Network too. Occasionally HBO (or whomever) will have 5 movies I really want in HD airing over the next month. I'll subscribe for a month and DVR those movies rather than buy them on iTunes. Then I'll cut the channel the next month. I did that with Cinemax this month because they had Miami Vice, A History Of Violence, and a few others.
These fockers never budge on iTunes though. They just sit on my wish list, taunting me:
