I love watching movies but actually I'm more an audio person. I'm kinda picky about sound quality and was disappointed by CD sound a long time ago. Since 2002, I have been collecting vinyl albums giving up buying CDs. To me, the analogue medium sounds so much better than any digital sources.
However, I get excited when I think an audio format of Blu-ray will probably be available once the format war is settled down (Of course, by BD's victory). With the capacity of 50G (or just 25G), the potential audio format (named Blu-ray Audio like DVD-Audio) would produce a real natural sound: extremely high sampling rate, super wide frequency response (like 0Hz-50,000 Khz), etc. I would probably stop collecting LPs when the format is available. It's a bit too early to talk about it but I would love to have the new audio format. Is there anyone who is with me? |
