So guys i decided to make my own space , i since decided to make some changes to my living room , the gear was already seen and some of the stuff can be bought locally which it helps with transportation and very important with taxes .
So my present set up consists of : Polk Monitors 60 series II , CS1 series II , 2 Klipsch subs RW-10D and RPW-10 , KEF Reference series 102 for surrounds and Quest QB6NX for back surrounds . What moves all this is a Pioneer VSX-1125K , i tried to keep it simple , XBOX 360 slim , PS3 160G slim , Toshiba HD DVD A35 , Sony BDP-S360 , Toshiba D-R6 DVD recorder , Bell Fibe IPTV , Monster Power HTS 1700 , Kenwood VR 506 receiver ( for TT) and a Technics SL 1700 Turntable and for last a Sharp Aquos LC-52D64U So the idea is to make a acoustic treatment and a light treatment for a PJ , but first i want to change my surrounds ( the KEF ones ) since my kid poke them in the driver ...how cool is that ![]() So following some advises from the members from Blu-ray.com ( thanks Big Daddy ) i decided to get some Axiom QS4 or if by the time that i will get them they have refurbished QS8 . This is a first step , then i will move to the new couch . Basically i found some good deals regarding the screen and PJ locally . Regarding the screen it is a 100 INCH ELITE SCREEN ELECTRIC PULL DOWN 16:9 ![]() I don`t have no knowledge about the quality of this screen but electric and it only costs 210$ it seems the price is right . Regarding the PJ it will be the PANASONIC PT-AE4000U , i still need to see how good this PJ is and if the 1700$ on the table is the right price . One of headaches is to get a Emotiva amp , short story , till several months ago i had a EMO UPA-7 bought from a guy that worked on the same company as i did and he was in Toronto lacking of money and bought is amp for a nice price , but that thing was heavy and i needed to redo my gear stand since is a DIY with pieces from IKEA ( it was a 4 shelve bookcase that became a stand ) and i was missing by 3/8 on the sides . So i never hooked up my EMO and one friend of a friend knowing that i had and never used we was a pain in the A$$ after me to sell it ... My wife also wanted a new fridge since we bought a new place and the old fridge need to go , so with her -25% from the last price on the tag from where she works and the right price on the EMO , the EMO was gone . Since we in Quebec pay the price for be different from the rest of Canada this is a quest to get a really nice amp brought here , 2 choices are offered 1: get directly here and pay border fees and taxes or 2: get it delivered to a place near the border in the US . Of course there are nice amps around several brands but the price is high even used today ppl are aware how much they cost thanks to the internet . So my idea is to have a family room with a entertainment system were i can receive friends and family and enjoy the most of it . I know that things can be improved , maybe the speakers are not top notch but they sound good for what i could afford plus twitching around my receiver with the MCACC it really helped to reach a goal and improve the quality in enjoying a HT experience . My Kid he also as is place for gaming with a NEC Multisync LCD 3735WXM ( this is one of the best tv that i bought ) , xbox 360 resident Evil edition , PS3 80G and Bell Fibe IPTV . He also had a Wii but its a up for sale since he dosen`t care about it ![]() I have to thank you to the members of the BR.com for the ideas and great and help . Also i have to thank to MU , Hamp , Crazy , Gibson , Bigall , Big Daddy , Callas , Hamilton , John , 4X12 and many more for the great welcome to the BR forums . Thank you guys ![]() |
