Will 3D be included ?

I wonder if it will be the same art at that used for US/Canada steels, or something different ..

The Best Buy NA one is way different, but this Steelbook is better looking. I love the white, and the spot-gloss effect sounds like a beauty.

Figured white if it'll be matte finish, but either way it's a slick-looking Steel.

Okay I see the art now ... Nice, but I think I still prefer the NA art more .. it's more steelbook-like

Although if this has 3D too, I may get this instead ..

It does actually look rather nice.
Not as nice as the former French steelbook though. I just wish that one hadn't been cancelled.

They both beat the BestBuy and FutureShop version by a mile.

I guess this will be the steel that makes me give ES another shot. Biting my tongue though with that statement...

Also, the database here needs to be seriously updated.
There's at least 6 different retailers releasing "Age Of Extinction" steelbooks (two of them in France). Mostly recycled artwork from the FutureShop/BestBuy, and Amazon.FR releases though.

The ES version will be the only one to have new artwork. Meaning, it'll most likely become the most sought after too.

There's going to be alot of people "quick drawing" their credit and debits cards for the ES version on Friday, lol!

I'm torn since I never bothered work the previous steels. So I'm not sure if I want this yet. If the standard 3D release got a lenticular slip like the last one then I'd probably get that. Imax is also a selling point so if it's not Imax I might import. Hmm :/

This is getting confusing, I have emailed Paramount UK to clarify. I know some steelbooks were only released in 3D in the past, whether this was done in error, I don't know. We just need Paramount UK or The Entertainment Store to clarify whether a 2D version would be included on the same disc.

If it's like Top Gun 3D you can still watch a 2D version as long as you have a 3D tv and just turn the 3D off.

Just to clear up some missed important factors
Its not about if you have a 3D Blu-ray Player or even a 3D TV

All 3D Blu-Ray Discs have a 2D Version on a 3D Disc as its a requirement of the 3D Specification

What happens is most of the time this 2D code on the 3D Disc is locked by the studio and instead they provide a separate 2D Blu Ray Disc with 3D Blu-ray releases so you still have the option of 2D Playback

This requirement with 3D Releases of 2D Playback is for ability to play on a standard Blu ray Player

3D Blu-ray:
•You will need a 3D ready Blu-ray player and 3D HDTV to see the full effect
•Most recent Blu-ray players are 3D ready, and some can be made 3D ready with a firmware update if they contain the right technology needed to play 3D. Check the manufacturer’s website for details
•PS3s are able to play Blu-ray 3D discs, but cannot output full HD sound at the same time as the 3D effect
Blu-ray 3D movies can play on non-3D ready machines, but only in 2D. Many manufacturers lock the 3D version for these machines and provide a separate ordinary Blu-ray disc

If the Transformers Age of Extinction 3D Disc has the 2D code unlocked then all is fine and there would be no need for a separate 2D Disc

If the 2D Code on the 3D Disc is locked then they need to provide a 2D Disc of the Film with the 3D Release so the consumer can play in 2D with a Standard Blu-ray Player
They cant say just buy the 2D Blu ray release instead
The 3D Blu ray release is meant to be backwards compatible with 2D Blu ray Player by allowing 2D playback

Also Some consumers have a 3D Blu-ray Player but not everyone has a 3D TV so a 3D Release still needs to have a 2D version included with a 3D Release so Playback is possible
