I notice a lot of complaining about the "3D" being printed on Steelbooks and I have been wondering if the people who dislike it being there are the same people that don't like watching 3D? Do you like 3D and hate the logo on the movies? Just curious.....

It really depends on wether the 3D text is properly stylised to fit in with the rest of the design.
This for example is perfect: ![]() The text is neatly stylised to fit in with the title, and doesn't stand out looking cheap or anything. This however: ![]() Cheap text, it stands out from the title too much and the style of the artwork in general. So as long as it's designed right, I don't mind the 3D text. |

I don't mind either way about the '3D' text being on the SteelBook or not. Like someone else pointed out, if it's there, I'd prefer if it was done with the same font as the title of the movie itself.
As for watching 3D, I have a 3D setup and purchase all available titles in 3D, but I hardly ever - if ever - manage to complete the film with glasses on. I just normally skim through. |

I think releases should be titled for what they are. If it's 3D, mark it as 3D, if it's not, then don't. Pretty simple really and I've never understood why people think it shouldn't be part of the title/on the steelbook.

I love 3D at the movies it gives the viewer a sense of being in the action as long as it's done correctly. I have a 3D setup in my dedicated home movie theatre and watching Avatar is a whole different experience. Talk about spectacular.
I'm not at all bothered by 3D on the Steelbooks either. |

I'm not bothered if 3D is on it or not, as long as the 3D disc is included.

I don't mind if 3D is mentioned on the front, but I would prefer it not in the title if it wasn't part of the original movie title. Take Godzilla UK SteelBook for example. The movie title was Godzilla not Godzilla 3D, but you get this on the Steel:
![]() They could have put it a lower corner or just went with the 3D logo on the spine. When they change the title of the film is what I don't like. If it's the only SteelBook available for the movie, though, it's not going to deter me from picking it up ![]() |
