It was a made for TV movie that tried to stay very close to Mary Shelley's novel. In fact, it was the first Frankenstein movie I ever saw. Our local blockbuster didn't have any of Karloff's Frankenstein movies. My dad taped this off of TNT I think. I always loved it and would love to see a blu ray release. I'm guessing it will probably never happen as it was ba sic ally a forgotten made for TV movie
