Hey guys I was just looking on Amazon for the Fifth Element Blu-ray and noticed there are 2 versions.
This and This Apparently, one is from 2007 and the other from 2010. The 2007 one being cheaper. Basically I just want to know if there are any differences between these 2 versions transfer wise, or if it's just a repackaging. Also, is the UK version of the Fifth Element the same transfer as the US one? Thanks in advance! Last edited by Jimmy Bro; 05-30-2011 at 11:27 AM. |

Basically here, the cheaper one was the first version that popped out and many people complained about the transfer especially in the opening scene of the kid on the donkey so they remastered it and it was indeed a better version. Same thing as Gladiatior... there are still first versions floating around in stores some say... although no difference in the pricing between those two I hear.

the 2007 one was the remastered one, the first blu ray issued for this movie was 2006, that was discontinued, in 2007 sony remastered and reissued. the 200 is just a reissue of the for the "blu ray essentials" collection that sony did. i believe the discs are identical

Yea, I had already bought it and got it home. I saw all scratches and other artifacts in the Egypt opening. Really kinda lame. I mean, I'm kinda used to it by now, since it's the same look as the DVD. However, knowing that there was a remaster but this special steelbook got the previous BluRay release everyone rejected... wtf.
On that same note, why doesn't any BluRay release match up to that Ultimate Edition DVD loaded with features? A fact track is all BluRay gets? This movie gets bizarre releases and treatments. Last edited by FlogginMcMurry; 12-04-2014 at 05:40 PM. |
