updating PS3 - Blu-ray Forum

hi

can anyone tell me the best way to update my PS3? i've just bought it so not sure if it comes updated or not.

i've not had a playstation since the original, had an xbox360 and got shot of that because i thought it was pretty bad, so bloody noisy.

it's the 40gig uk version.

just hook it up on to the net using wireless or the network cable and go to menu and click update.

online update is easier , just go to system update

Input your WiFi settings and it will let you know if and update is available automatically. Easy as pie!

Once connected to the net the PS3 will tell you if there is an update as soon as you log in as it checks every time.

sorry one more, i changed the connection to pick up my wireless. once it picked it up screen said system needs updating, go to settings/update - i can't see any 'update' in settings though.

it's probably staring me in the face as well.

Yes slightly confusing that part of the XMB doesn't start at the top. You have to scroll up to see the update option.
