Thanks for starting this thread.

Obviously filmmakers need to produce more REH adaptations. A lot more.

Indeed... I'm very surprised that so few movies or series have been made based on his work. He wrote so many stories, and they are not all set in his Hyborian world. Maybe someday something will happen.

Boggles my mind that we got Beastmaster in 4K before we got Conan the Barbarian. (And, speaking of REH, that we got The Whole Wide World in 4K before we got Conan!) Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to have it, but Conan could really, really use a definitive presentation.

Is this true? I only just realized that there was a (lackluster) Blu-ray of The Whole Wide World. I liked the film and would pick it up. Please, if true, provide details of this WWW 4K.

There's no 4k disc but the Apple TV version has been 4K for a year or so I think: https://tv.apple.com/us/movie/the-wh...ayfsevn3p92jr8

If they release Conan The Barbarian (1982) And Destroyer on 4K, I'll be happy.

Might want to add the UK release of Conan The Barbarian (1982) to the list since I believe it has better video:

The UK cut is censored for horsefalls as per British laws pertaining to animal cruelty, so anyone who is a stickler for having an absolutely uncut edition take note. In the first pressing, it was possible to access an uncut version on the disc, simply by opting for a disc menu language other than English, but subsequent pressings corrected that error.

OK. Is the Australian release basically the same as the UK release but uncensored?

I think the rumor for Barbarian and Destroyer is Arrow. If so I will be ecstatic. They’ve been killing it with their 4Ks.

Ambrose Bierce was never found.

I'm surprised that there isn't more R E Howard as he was fairly prolific and wrote in many genres.

Off topic but they filmed An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge and It was also shown on the Twilight Zone.

I love both Conan movies with Arnold; the environments, the sword, the characters, the acting and that epic soundtrack. You couldn't ask for a better set up. I even listen to the soundtrack whenever I bike ride or workout; I own the museum prop replica of the Atlantean Sword. Just last night I ordered 2 Conan black t-shirts. Conan The Barbarian/Destroyer are my favorite movies.

There aren't enough Robert E. Howard movies.

There's a popular genre waiting to be explored on film.
