Lets hope for a decent transfer and some nice extras. This is a classic movie that deserves good treatment.

You know how people complain that we never get great films at the same time, or even before, the US does? Well this and Airplane prove that's not always true (unless a US announcement is soon to come). Both are classic comedies, and PT&A is one of my all-time favourite films, so I'll be picking this one up. Bit annoyed that I bought this on DVD only six months ago, thinking the Blu would still an insanely long way off, but I only spent £4 on it, so I guess it's not that bad. Hope it's a great transfer, to my knowledge Paramount may be slow with their catalog titles, but they do good work on them.

Sweet, I absolutely love this movie, it has great replay value so I cannot wait for the blu. It's great that more of the John Hughes and John Candy films are going hi-def, they're all classics you can watch over and over.

It's worth getting just for this:

Quote:
Car Rental Agent: [cheerfully] Welcome to Marathon, may I help you?
Neal: Yes.
Car Rental Agent: How may I help you?
Neal: You can start by wiping that f**king dumb-ass smile off your rosey, f**king, cheeks! And you can give me a f**king automobile: a f**king Datsun, a f**king Toyota, a f**king Mustang, a f**king Buick! Four f**king wheels and a seat!
Car Rental Agent: I really don't care for the way you're speaking to me.
Neal: And I really don't care for the way your company left me in the middle of f**king nowhere with f**king keys to a f**king car that isn't f**king there. And I really didn't care to f**king walk, down a f**king highway, and across a f**king runway to get back here to have you smile in my f**king face. I want a f**king car RIGHT F**KING NOW!
Car Rental Agent: May I see your rental agreement?
Neal: I threw it away.
Car Rental Agent: Oh boy.
Neal: Oh boy, what?
Car Rental Agent: You're f**ked!

Maybe not too wise to announce this but I haven't seen this film yet....
BUT this BD release will soon change that, I haven't seen the last 4 films of his, only seen the first 4 and they were all masterpieces in my eyes.

Envy!!!
I'd love to see it for the first time again, you're in for a treat.
Have you seen Bowfinger by any chance either?

It's one I'll have to give another try then, I was 15 when it came out and clearly didn't 'get it' that much. I'll most probably appreciate it a bit more now. I'll stick it High priority on my Lovefilm list. Thanks for bringing it to my attention again though

Yeah it's a bit of a hidden gem that gets better over time.

It has one of my favourite film endings.

I've come close but thankfully never had a journey like them

Lots of great stuff in this, the frozen dog, the burning car, the "towel" and of course "where's your other hand?". Keep watching after the end credits.

I'd buy Bowfinger on blu without hesitation, one of Steve Martin's best and Eddie Murphy is tremendous as the gullible stand in and the paranoid movie star, "You cannot show it to the Laker Girls. I know you want to show it to the Laker Girls but you can never show it to the Laker Girls. Keep Mr Weenie in the pants. Always in the pants."

This made my day!

I ADORE that movie and I never expected it to hit blu so soon. I don't expect new bonus features but it'd be nice if the get those of the recent t.a.p.-edition in the US.
