A lesser known little indie film with Michelle Williams, as indie films go its pretty dang good. And Williams's preformance is great.

The only problem is I'm not sure the source quality is all that great. The transfer I saw on TV was 720p at best. But that's not uncommon for indie films, Another Earth as shot in 720p as well.

Could be a good pick for Criterion.

There has been an increase in discussion about this film here in the past few days so I wanted to bump this.

I have been sending Oscilloscope e-mails asking when/if we can expect this to hit blu-ray. I'm also tweeting them @OscopeLabs asking the same thing.

After my constant pestering I finally got a reply via twitter.

unfortunately there aren't any plans to release Wendy and Lucy on BD at this time. You never know though!

One of my favorite films of the 2000s. Would love to own on blu.

I like Night Moves and Meek's Cutoff, but this and Old Joy rate even higher in my book.

Definitely keeping my eye on the set, but with the holidays coming and it being a new release, I'm going to at least wait to see if it goes down in price before ordering.

But it will be mine at some point.

The Kelly Reichardt collection looks like A very nice set.Amazon.co.uk has it listed as Region B.
I own all 3 of the Oscilloscope releases.
And RIVER OF GRASS is on DVD?Is this A 3 or 4 disc set?I know Amazon does not also get it right.

Would buy if the price drops below $20.

Just re-watched Wendy and Lucy on my HD set - again, great little film.

[Show spoiler]The scene when Wendy left Lucy at the end & hopped on the train was quite poignant.

I've read the short story Train Choir (this is the basis for W&L), and though the story does provide a little more detail, IMHO the film is much better - the scenes of small-time Oregon life are nice, and I also like the far shots of Wendy walking alone (or with Lucy) through the deserted landscape, which IMHO was intentional - since it emphasized her isolation....

Also a big fan of Reichardt's Old Joy (2006), and it's interesting to note that the dog Lucy is the same one in both films. I wonder if Mark in Old Joy (he owned Lucy in that film) got her from the dog foster home that was taking care of her at the end of W & L?!

However, W & L really needs an upgrade - though, I'm not sure how much better it would look, since the film quality doesn't seem that great to begin with - i.e., the night scenes are hard to make out, there's an extreme amount of grain in certain segments, the color/tone seems to change from one second to the next in some scenes, and overall the color seems somewhat funky (I thought it was my set, so I tried to adjust this & nothing worked).

I saw this recently and wanted to own it instantly as well. I loved the movie, raw and real. I put it up on one of my wish list threads along with some other unreleased and rare indie flicks that need to be on blu-ray too.
