Anyone have any experience with ordering from MovieZyng? It’s a relatively new site in the US. They seem like a good place for lesser-known titles—DVDs and Blu-rays, no 4K discs. $3.99US shipping on the first item, $1.99US on each additional item.

Haven't ordered from then but they're legit. Flicker Alley and dvdbeaver have been using them for a few years now. Been tempted to buy but there are cheaper options like wow. Shipping seems tracked by UPS so it might be smart to keep the orders small to keep fees low.

Can't help with the Canadian shipping, but MovieZyng is the retail arm of Allied Vaughn.
AV is the replicator for no-inventory/made-on-demand releases from Warner Archive, Sony, Paramount, Universal, etc. If the case key art has the BD logo on it's pressed (Warner Archive, etc.) -- if there's nothing on the case art or says Blu-ray Edition, it's likely a BD-R. I've used them twice in the US, they're fine. Shipping is high and speed from street date is really not much different that say Target or DeepDiscount. |

so i contact Allied Vaughn thinking they would help since they pressed the disc. ya nope they pretty much say oh u probably bought a counterfeit disc. i sent them pictures of the disc the artwork the invoice from amazon showing it came direct from amazon and not some random dude on amazon. they wouldn't budge. even filed a complaint though the bbb they emailed the company 4 times and then sent them a registered letter all of witch they ignored so there rating went from A+ to A- The only MOD release that was worst then that was when sony was doing those choice releases and they were releasing them on Bluray -R disc. i ordered one off amazon and when i got it i put it in my player the disc wouldn't do nothing. so i put it in my pc bluray burner drive and that was when windows poped up and said do u want to burn files to this disc. so it was a blank bluray -R they never burned any files on it. thankfully i tested that one right away and exchanged it. those i believe were being Made directly by amazon them self as above upc it says amazon MOD Last edited by aaron158; 02-14-2021 at 12:45 AM. |

I've never had a bad WAC, Sony, or Universal pressed MOD from AV. I know Amazon does their own thing sometimes including reselling returned used items and I avoid them at all costs for anything labelled MOD -- I don't trust them at all.
My WAC discs have been the most reliable of all my discs. They're pressed in the same Mexico plant pretty much every other North American disc in replicated at. Allied Vaughn handles the distribution of these pressed discs, but has no real hand in the disc production part. The MOD part seems to be more with the case art which often looks home printed. Some people even thing the disc art may be done separately. I've always suspected (with zero proof) they have a a warehouse with a bunch of bare replicated discs and actually print the disc art, case art, and assemble small batches of the items in their US Factory making it their version of MOD. MovieZyng is extremely cheap international shipping and quite a few EU/AUS/Asian customers use them for their Warner Archive Blurays. I don't think they're that new -- it appears they;ve been around since at least 2015 under that name |

the newer sony mods and universal ones are all done by AV older sony mods were Burned bluray r done by amazon.com i believe. imo i wish that sony and universal would not bother with MOD releases and just sell the rights to places like shout or one of the other smaller labels. shout factory always stands behind there product and goes out of there way to help out customers. like one time i bought a movie that came out 4 years before and it was missing the slip and i figured they would just says we got none since they only grantee a slip for the first 90 days. but there c/s agent was like i got a stack of them here ill send u one no charge. also after what happened with a/v i asked the lady at Warner c/s dept if they can replace discs for there MOD releases and she said they do no problem since there still official Warner releases Last edited by aaron158; 02-15-2021 at 01:26 AM. |

The Sony Choice BDR I avoided even though there were a couple that I really wanted and so far haven't been re-released.
Which Universal Disc did you have a problem with? From your story, I put all that blame on Universal though I'd like to blame Amazon for just about everything. Sony and Warner (esp WAC) seem to be much more amenable to helping when there's a problem. AlliedVaughn and Amazon are just the middlemen in the deal -- the studio has to take responsibility for their product in the end. If they then have an issue with AV, that's up to them and whatever their contract states. |

a/v didn't want no part in it at first the first lady who replied sounded like she was going to help she asked me what the problem was asked me for the invoice asked me for my address ect. then after i provided them all the stuff they asked for some other lady replied from a dif department and started on this you bought counterfeit disc thing. nothing about them looked counterfeit i have other universal mod releases that i had bought before and they worked fine and there discs and packaging looked the same and they were pressed discs not burned so i doubt someone would go to the trouble of getting fake pressed discs and returning them to amazon so they could be sold to me. |

Picked up a bunch of titles from the Warner Archive 4 for $49 sale. Worked out to about C$20 per title shipped. Not too shabby!

I made a couple orders, had a medium-sized backlog of titles I’ve been wanting over the last few years. They worked out to $19.97 cad a piece with shipping. Even if I get dinged, the cost should still be under $25 each. |
