We are 4 episodes into this and unless this drops the ball in it's conclusion this could quite possibly the best thing the BBC has done in years, scratch that, not just the BBC but British TV full stop. A thriller that can stand alongside the likes of Breaking Bad and True Detective, no I'm not joking it's that good.
It's not like I've ever watched anything by it's writer Sally Wainwright or a fan of Sarah Lancashire but something peaked my interest so we sky + it and boy I'm glad we did. Brilliantly acted by all, Lancashire is utterly riveting and the supporting cast like Steve Pemberton are excellent, visceral and truly tense, I just hope it lives up to it's promise but I'll take this over the likes of the grossly overrated Wire wannabe The Shadow Line any day of the week. A review of the first episode. http://www.denofgeek.com/tv/happy-va...isode-1-review Last edited by BluraySe7en; 05-28-2014 at 10:21 PM. |
