Just a quick heads up. HMV have this and Slaughterhouse for £8.99 each. I wish I had known that before I paid £14 each for them

Yep, I paid £14.00 for Slaughterhouse, only to realise HMV had it for £8.99.

Is this the same transfer as the US version. I have the US version but just ordered the 88 Films version to go with the rest of the Slasher Collection. Damn OCD.

34.06 Mbps provided by DVDBeaver.com

Review: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film5/blu-r...ay_blu-ray.htm

To my eyes they are pretty close at first glance, but the Starz / Anchor Bay release appears to have better compression and sharper grain despite the higher bitrate provided by 88 Films. Much like Shout!Factory, there has been some talk about 88's compression not being that worlds greatest.. and of course I found this out after my imports shipped. I bought 88's for the lossless audio, extras, higher bitrate (figured it had to be a better encode right? err) and the cool red case.

It would be nice if someone could post uncompressed images of both releases over at Caps-a-holic to be sure there is no room for error

I found one identical screen cap and a close second [DVDBeaver top / Blu-ray.com bottom]

True. I've read the warnings about DVDbeaver in the past. I use them as a ruff guide only. I'm waiting for a reliable source that owns both the US and UK versions, uses the same settings and presents them both with lossless images.

... or at least someone who owns both and has a critical eye for comparing them.

Extras are basically the same as the US and I can't imagine the PQ looking much better. Looks like the only reason to buy this would be for the lossless audio...

Not worth it to me.

Default Correct me if I get any of this wrong?

UK: 88 Films

Audio Commentary by Charles Kaufman and Rex Piano (on both)
Behind the Scenes Super 8 Footage (on both)
Eli Roth on Mother’s Day (on both)
Charles Kaufman and Darren Bousman talk Mother’s Day (on both: Comic-con)
Theatrical Trailer (on both)
Charles Kaufman Intro (new)
Rex Piano Intro (new)
TV Spot (new)

Bonus: Collector’s Booklet By Calum Waddell Featuring An In Depth Conversation with Scream Queen Nancy Hendrickson
Bonus: Lossless Audio
Bonus: 50GB/Better bitrate: We'll see that holds up if someone caps both.
Bonus: Red Case
Bonus: Reversible Sleeve without logos
Bonus: Graduation Day Trailer

US: Anchor Bay

Audio Commentary (on both)
Behind the Scenes (on both)
Eli Roth on Mother’s Day (on both)
Mother's Day at Comic-Con (on both)
Trailer (on both)

It only ended up costing me $14 and lose change *USD. 88 Films cost less than $3 over what Anchor Bay's is currently going for. It was worth it for the lossless audio, booklet, a few extra features and the red case. Provided the PQ is the same.. That's always the most important attribute to me! I also like supporting a smaller label that will bring more horror classics to Blu-ray while Anchor Bay has been sleeping on their horror catalog for many years.

The Kaufman intro was also on the AB disc. The TV spot and Piano intro are the only new on disc extras.

I guess if you don't have this on Blu yet, 88 would be the one to get.

I think AB doesn't have much left anymore. Much of what they had went to Image and other studios.

But yes, 88 Films definitely deserves our support.
